Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt2)

I have a question since the new bundle prices were announced. So I want to upgrade from the 1mb bundle to the 2mb bundle. Under Clientzone, when I want to change my line speed I only have the options of 4, 10, 20 and 40.

So can someone please explain the simplest method to upgrade to a 2mb bundle. Or will AH just automatically bump the line speed and let me upgrade my package?

You mean from the 10bmps profile? I'm on 4mbps, should be on 10mbps but the price is still the same.

No...

What I mean is that if you are a 10mb customer currently there won't be any discounts as Telkom did not give or do anything form their side to the 10mb line speed profile.

2mb -> 4mb Therefor you which are on a 4mb currently should get a saving of R100 per their new pricing on 4mb uncapped bundles.

I understand what you saying, it's just a little disappointing to see others getting discount and you don't :) but the reasons for it make sense.
 
No problemo mr Afriman, I was more so just commenting on the over all situation. Not on Afrihost for not giving us greedy customers a further discount, I know you already discount the 10mbps bundles.

So how about a reply on my other post? (that nice and long one?)

It seems the whole MTN Data center is down in JHB?

Afrihost, Univeg, and a few others cannot be accessed, including my own.....
 
Afripeople. why do you route Twitch.tv traffic to their US servers and not their EU servers? Maybe the increased latency is why twitch streaming is so ****? I tweeted Twitch and they said the US routing is at my ISP's discretion, it's not their doing.

There is an issue at Gallo Manor - we're still waiting for feedback on what the cause is.

If you're hosting is affected - please bear with us. I promise that everything possible is being done to restore services :(

Secondly - nothing has changed with my DL speed
 
Have to say as well that my speeds have been fairly consistent last few days. Full throttle thankfully.

On youtube what I've noticed is that if I refresh the video once or twice....then I will get full speeds? Really strange.

I might give your idea of using Google dns a try and see how that works for me @Zertop.

Afriman, from one of your comments in the myBB article on Afrihosts new prices you mentioned that right now Afrihost is only passing on the saving on line rental, does that mean that the prices will change again later? Because right now, according to Afrihosts site, the entry level uncapped bundle has gone up in price from R297 to R397, the speed is faster but it still is more expensive now.

I am with Openweb Gold at the moment on a 4mb account. Is there anyone who can tell me how the Business uncapped account competes with the OW Gold account? Seems the business account is unshaped 24/7 as well as with torrents? And can a home user benefit from this or does it have to be a company?

Anyone can use a business account. In my opinion it is better than Openweb Gold as it is guaranteed unshaped 24/7 :D
