Shaping Policy: 75% Download/ 75% P2P

2mbs line and done 310GB for the month

Wow! That's very good indeed.... Fortunately most businesses are still closed and therefore we get shaped less. So we can download lots, I love Decembers :D :p Welcome Back Afriman!! :)

Absolutely abysmal again today.

What's weird is, HTTP downloads run at full speed but my browsing is extremely sluggish and unresponsive.

Sorry to read that you've been having issues, is everything sorted here or can I follow up on anything for you?

Definitely something happening on the exchange, and not a good thing either :(
PM me if you're still having issues with this.

not sure if this is the right place, but just received my invoice today and see that i am charged R697... will that go to the R597 as advertised on the website??????

Our system still needs to update some of the pricing and fall in line with the Telkom upgrades. It'll all be adjusted soon.

First want to say thank you Afriman and the rest of the online Afri team for there excellent service towards this forum. You guys are doing an amazing job. Well done! Secondly, your network is top notch and very thought out compared to many competitors which I won't share on this forum however, lots of other ISP's are behind you. Your prices are not as great as competitors but your network and the way it's handled makes up for it 110% You no.1 ISP as of date. I believe you will stay that way and hopefully don't become like the previous ISP I was with, terrible service and soft caps and extreme shaping on certain protocols. It was ridiculous. On a positive note I'm ecstatic being with you guys, I heavily believe Afrihost is the best for now, keep it up! :) :) I'm on a 1 Mb uncapped package.

Wow, what a great post to come back to after a few days off. We really do appreciate this, I think I can talk for the team to say that it's really cool hanging around these parts :)

Thanks for the absolutely fantastic feedback!

After numerous line stabilizations performed by AH support, things seem to be better now. (Touchwood). Hoping it stays this way. :)

Looking much better, anything is an improvement over that previous 2 second response times o.0

Shaping, your gift this Christmas!

They keep insisting that shaping is dynamic and doesn't work on schedule for peak/off-peak days. My view is that a peak schedule exists for all weekdays (ignoring pub holidays) and only weekends are completely off peak. I think that shaping is only 'dynamic' during off-peak hours so that they can eat into customer bandwidth into off-peak hours as well. During peak times, my view is that it's always shaped - public holidays included. Same crap on Dec 16!

I can honestly say that I have never been unshaped during peak times even on a pub holiday to prove that their 'dynamic' shaping is designed to benefit the end user!
Anyone with views to the contrary?

Judging from your post, can I assume you're in the JHB area or surrounds?
I know the shaping is far from ideal, but we are seeing improvements after hours where shaping is easing quicker than what we've seen previously.

Lets wait for the rest of our capacity to go live next week sometime (it sounds further away than you think ;) ) - I'm sure this will make a difference.

Having authentication issues. Both capped and uncapped. Used my phone to login to clientzone. Says I have no products, all gone. Anyone else?
My AH apn is working though. AH is now properly broken.

Really sorry about this, the authentication issue should be sorted out now.

Oh no :(
Are you still seeing the line drops? If so, drop me a PM and I'll run a few checks for you.

Yeah still going on, last night was the worst. Dropping every few minutes. Live support logged a Telkom fault for me but it seems that the ref no. is the same as the previous fault that is still open on Telkom's system. "Slow Access".

Please PM me your line number, I'd really like to see if I can have this sorted out for you.
