Just wish they would be more specific about their upgrade times, and what significant means to them. Last time they did a "significant" capacity upgrade, it only lasted about 6 weeks, before we were shaped into the ground again.

I'm with you there brother!!!

The word imminent is a swear word around these parts, right behind significant ;)

Well uncapped is definitely being arbitrarily shaped due to lack of capacity.

Uncapped 4mb home. Try to stream youtube in 720p...forget it. Speed at 220KB.

Switched to capped 1gb...boom. Back up to 400KB average.

On the southern IPC.

Can someone from Afrihost please explain this?

Why are home packages being negatively impacted on realtime services?

Not cool!

Anybody else getting extreme packet loss in the north? When I switch to my WebAfrica account it's all clear.

At my folks currently, who are on 2mb home uncapped. Been waiting an hour for Spybot S&D to download. All 44MB of it. Yay.

Downloading at thirty KB per sec :-(
Turbo charge gets me up to a megabyte per sec. So even the 6.5% shaping number is wrong

It's honestly frustrating.

Starting a video the innitial speed will hit 400 odd...then drop to 200. Like the speed cannot be maintained due.

Speed tests are showing 100KB for internasional. Switch to capped and full 450KB.

Something is seriously wrong here...what the hell happened last two weeks?

Edit:

Home uncapped has some serious problems. Local and international speedtests are maxing at 100kB? Switch to my capped 1gb to compare and full 440kB on both local and international tests.

Anyone else is CT area experiencing the same problem?

I never thought I would say this, as i was a big supporter of Afrihost....but the shaping is frustrating the crap out of me now.

I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and let them fix the lack of bandwidth issue. I would even handle being shaped during the week..as long as weekends were not touched. How things have changed....

Afrihost, you guys desperately need further bandwidth updates on your IPC, it's killing the south.

/rage.

And this is the reason I'm doubting to sign up with them.

I ended up making the move to Business uncapped.... and shaping problems floated away.

I am a really big supported of Afrihost, and how they run things.

so lets see how business goes...

The North as well, so their whole network is struggling. I was so happy with Afrihost a couple of months back, but now I wouldn't recommend Afrihost as a ISP to anyone. Very disappointed.

yep, shaped right here, and I only did 30 gb, on a 10mbps uncapped line...not getting more than 480 kbps.Ridiculous. Have been happy for a long time, even with the ups and downs....but I think the time has come.

I have 2mbs uncapped line, have done less than 18gb this month and have been shaped at 25% for the last 5 days. Am definitely cancelling my account and switching elsewhere
