Other than Twitch.tv streaming being pretty poor during peak hours, this package is pretty awesome. Pings aren't as good as Telkom, but it's far more consistent, and downloads fly. Only problem now is that I am shaped at 12.5%/6.25%. How exactly does that work? Am I shaped down 12.5%/6.25% or does that mean I only get that speed of the line? What are the thresholds for data on 10mbps?

We shape from 07:30 to 22:00 - when we start unshaping dynamically
This only goes for P2P and downloads though, browsing, streaming etc are left unshaped.

Cant download any updates via steam. Dota 2 needs update.

Is it that you can't connect to Steam at all or that Steam is slow?

Connect to steam, none of the updates want to initiate.. switch over to capped.. the downloads start.

switch back to uncapped.. cant resume updates.

Im not going to pay R29 for something that should work anyway. Im not downloading the game.. im updating it, which is a colossal 30mb.

The latency is way too high for a local test
Do you have a traceroute I can look at?

The turbocharge minutes are definitely supposed to be allocated every month, you get 300 mins free.

Compare:

Tracing route to google-public-dns-a.google.com [8.
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 10.0.0.1
2 4 ms 5 ms 4 ms 105.233.57.1
3 7 ms 8 ms 8 ms 196.6.121.198

Hop 2 on both traces indicates exchange issues if it's more than about 20ms

If your exchange is congested then you will experience bad latency and packet loss at any and/or all hops after it.

The problem comes in on hop 2, the response time should be under 30ms.
Hop 2 is your exchange.

Try download a program called WinMTR (assuming you are using Windows) and tracert to afrihost.co.za using that
