With how useless the current network is I cannot even sync with Steam to play games - OR I can force it and lose my settings.

Added to this I am unable to now connect to my local mumble server. Well done with your network deployment. I believe we were told at 16:00 and 17:00 respectively that things would improve "within the hour"...ya right.

Oh and before the spin is applied by suggesting it's a line, Telkom, exchange or combination of the above - when using either WA, Mweb or Vox it works perfectly.

This month cannot end fast enough so I can be done with poor service.

Yeah, just look at the tracerts posted in the capped accounts section.

Everything barring downloads and P2P you should get as close to full speed as possible, anything less and AH is failing to deliver on its advertised promises. Your downloads and P2P are subject to shaping, you can see the degree to which they are shaped in the customer area under connectivity.

Local download and upload speeds appear decent from the Karoo to South African hosts, but latency is almost twice as high as it should be. International traffic on my 4mb line is purely pathetic:

Afrihost, uses MTN:

Axxess, uses MTN:

The reality of the matter is AH's network is a pile of steaming **** and by their inability to get it fixed we can assume that their "technicians" are only equipped with shovels.

Just cancelled my account with Afrihost. same issue as all above (on Home uncapped 4mb), and have zero p2p and minimal web browsing, i've stopped trying to watch youtube it just makes me angry. Contacted support last night, was told they reset my account and all was well...for about 10 hours. now its back again.

NO THANKS, don't feel like paying you guys the premium (you're most expensive ISP now btw) and getting sub-par service that needs constant nagging on my end to work.

SO...I've now cancelled my account and I'm looking to go to WebAfrica. Anyone here have any tips/info on how to seamlessly do the transition? (no not interested in having Afrihost still manage my Telkom line either)

I know that many of you are still not getting the right experience and I can assure you that we're taking every measure to try and make this work the way it should. Our team are running into some snags, and even though we have seen some great progress in some areas and times of the day, we're still seeing poor performance in others.

Also bear in mind that when we make changes to the network, there is a short period where latency and throughput are very poor because the network management software is updating and doesn't do so well with managing traffic efficiently at the same time. Depending on the complexity of the change, this could last 15-30 minutes, but we're doing our best to delay these changes until as late as possible to affect the least amount of users and definitely to avoid affecting critical daytime business services.

Thanks to everyone who is sticking it out with us, I am really confident that our team will get this right, I know they are under immense pressure and keep going even though they've probably not had a full night's sleep for over a week now.

Too little. Too late.

my experience is great again, as it was a few months ago.
hope you get past this bump in the road afriman/afriguy, and get back to the legend status that was

Too little. Too late.

I promise that we've been working on this from the word go, so if my assurances are late, the commitment from our team isn't. I hope that if you do decide to stay with us, you'll see the kind of performance we expect very soon.

Hi Guys,

Just terminated my service, went from uncapped to capped to another ISP, was definitely great in the beginning, just got tired of not being able to watch twitch and then last night after 4 hours only having downloaded 4Gig of GTA V on my 10Mb line...

Don't know what went wrong Afriman, sure hope you get it sorted soon. Good luck to those sicking around!

Hopefully I'll be back again someday Afriman!

Really sorry to hear you've moved on, but I can understand where you're coming from :(
Mark my words, things will improve - and when they do, we'll be back up to nothing short of awesome :D

I sincerely wish you the best of luck going forward. Enjoy GTA!

I am off sick today and for most of the morning the youtube streaming was patchy - to be generous - however...however the last hour or so things have done a 180. Back to how it used to be.

Well done. Really well done. Will see if my gaming and mumble is also fixed and report back later on that.

Really great to hear it, keep us posted on how things go though!

Much much much better!

Still getting a tiny bit of packet loss - but it does not effect mumble that badly. Also gaming is solid tonight.

YouTube HD streaming took a bit of a dip at around 20:00 - but still usable.

Your improvements showing good effect.

Thank you for fixing things up!

Well this entire week has been kuk for me i cant download nvidia updates because my 4mb line is downloading at 88kbps torrents dont work at all and latency is up and down....

Aaaaand back to crazy packet loss for mumble :(

Did you really think it would be that easy?!?

I am having terrible issues with VoIP atm, specifically TS3. Everything else seems to be decent.

Has this changed at all since last night? Our Team did push through some changes late last night so some services may be been affected.

How are your other services at the moment?

Have you tested your downloads using your Turbocharge minutes? Does the Turbocharge result in an change of speed?
