There will be a payment before than, but it will only the pro-rata'd difference between your old package and your new package.

I am a new client, no old package. I just need to know when money is due because as it stands, clientzone is shouting at me that I owe R797 on day one of signing up.

^ and on top of that, my first night - gaming is terrible, youtube buffers terribly and pages take an age to load.

ping with shaping 230 i activated turbocharge ping drops to 170 and i can play the game fine, so please have an look or i leave

That's pretty strange. even though throughput can be affected by shaping, latency should remain constant, this is one of the main aims of our shaping system.

Which region are you in?

Mumble blows tonight again... SMITE laggy again...

Going backwards here...

I've connected to a mate's VPN everything smooth.

We've been working pretty hard to ensure that we identify traffic correctly on the network and we haven't rolled out new changed since this was all working.

Have you tested if Turbocharging immediately improves your experience?

So that proves it's they are shaping games and VOIP.

It depends on the circumstances, like what services are running in the background, and also the state of the overall network at that point.

We'll need to investigate further before we make any conclusions, to make sure our team focus on the right areas.

Shaping will affect latency, it has been discussed multiple times on this thread.

Yup.

Using WA account for my gaming...trying to use Mumble and playing any game is just madness. Packet loss due to shaping is just crazy.

Is is the same as previously, that when you Turbocharge, everything seems to work perfectly again?

We usually bill you within 24 hours of signup. If you signed up on the first day of the month, then the full month's fees would be due.

i am in the eastern cape

Shaping is designed to achieve the opposite. We want to ensure that demand does not rise to the level where latency is affected, and our tests show that we can shape while keeping latency constant.

This should definitely not be the case according to our tests.

that's cool, that was what I was expecting ..... just confused as to the R800 which is 'overdue pay now'.

I'm going to have a big download this month. Will it be possible for me to change to Business Uncapped and then simply change back to normal before the month is over so it'll take effect in January? Also, Business Uncapped means Steam won't be shaped, right?

Thanks in advance to anyone that clears this up.:)

Yes, if you upgrade to Business now, you'll pay a pro-rata fee for the remainder of the month, and then you can submit the regrade back to Uncapped before the 25th to take effect by the end of the month for the new month.

Depends on how much you plan to download - you could also rather spend the pro-rata on a capped account. Whatever works for you :)

Thanks, I was actually just thinking about it and reckon it may be for the best if I get some capped data as it would speed up my line too. Downloading a 30gb file on a 1meg line isn't fun at all.
