Don't be silly. We don't have an Afrihost size party budget yet. Our Xmas party involves giving our staff en extra 3GB per month and a hot-dog the day before Xmas. No bun - we don't believe in having to pay for extras.

Any feedback on that payment issue ...... sorry but I need to know why the money has gone off but is not reflecting in the AH account.

I've moved DSL to WA and for the most part everything runs at line speed even though with all the steam installs (humble bundle and sales ) I'm a 1-star player. When I used the AH line before I'd be on the 18% throttle-a-thon by now

You running full speed on 1 star because most business has closed for the year and the network is quiet until new year. You'll probably find the same "no shaping applied" now with AH too, so can't really compare now with last week for eg. You'll more than likely find heavy shaping with 1 star in the new year when business opens, probably around the 5th.
Thanks, but how's the AH network doing? I like the unified clientzone so of the prices remain the same or get better I move back to AH, it's all about where to get service at best buck.

How's the AH network doing? I can only assume that "no news is good news" as a quiet forum is a clear sign of contentedness. Frankly, the clientzone is the only thing going for AH IMHO, and their price, it's just the MTN network I don't like. I would rather be on a network like IS where I can control my level of shaping (keep bulk downloads to overnight) instead of AH's random if-too-many-people-are-downloading-you get shaped policy and this is one of the things I don't like, the other being MTN's unstable network.
Don't get me wrong, IMHO, it's great when it works, like now, but that's only because everyone is on holiday (it's hard to watch netflix when you're on the beach), wait until the new year, and if by some miracle, things hold together when business starts, it will just be a matter of time before they have some issue like IPC down (happens a lot), authentication (happens a lot) or high latency (happens a lot) etc.
They're cheap so maybe have a backup account for the rough times? EDIT: Had a think about that one and AH uncapped aint cheap so...
I'm at work during the day so daytime is not an issue for me, although if I keep above 2 stars then I don't get any complaints from the household.
To make your decision easier, I'll take AH uncapped anyday over a 1 star IS account, but then don't be on one star. I can do about 350GB (overnight downloading) on my 4mb line and remain on 4 or 5 stars. I'm not a gamer so I don't do steam updates so YMMV.
I just noticed AH is R100 more expensive.. I've already got the files installed for all 300+ games we own so I'm good now. Think I'll stick with WA uncapped then till AH price goes down or WA goes up
