AfriGuy, sometime back there was mention that once the telkom line upgrades were completed, the uncapped (bundle) pricing would be reviewed/reduced - is this still on the table?

AfriMan, please advise?

Seems like they are trying to find a sweet spot for everything at AH. Shaping Policy: 12.5% Download/ 6.25% P2P on a Friday evening after 9:00 PM. Trying to schedule work and pleasure has become a crap-shoot at best.

I wish. We use the same "off the shelf" products as everyone here. So we feel everyone's pain - truly :)

I've had no power at home for the last 36 hours - so even shaped internet would be a great improvement. Frantically charging every possible device I have right now before I leave the office :(

No power, does ESKOM shape you aswell!!

Shaping??

Hi there again people.
I just want to share this, knowing my nagging wil not get anywhere at all. Just want to show this.
I'm currently with Afrihost for 10 days. The speed was going good, downloading like mad to test the speed. I'm currently still with OW, till end of month when my account finish. I was so impressed with the speed on my 4meg uncapped, that I made my friend join too. Suddenly from Wednesday/Thursday my torrents came to a halt!!!!
I then switched back to my OW account to test the difference in line speed downloading.....
Just for interest my account by OW was standing on 92gig for the month till I left there.
I'm now on 60gig by Afrihost, downloading to see what happens.

Afrihost after 10 days gives me 8.2kb/ps on torrent 60gig later
OW after 20days gives me this tonight.

Like I said, just out of curiosity I put this here.

Thanx

Chris

Same problem here wonder if i made a right move to join Afrihost

Well Afrihost hitting an all time low again. Shaping 18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P on a Saturday morning. This hasn't happened in a long time. And I'm in the North. I don't even want to know whats its like for Southern and Eastern users.

I'm getting a bit fed up with being a Second Class Customer to Afrihost. We pay good money for these accounts, yet we get the brunt of everything. If they have too many customers or not enough bandwidth or IPC, the Uncapped users get the short end of the stick in the situation. The uncapped accounts are definitely the red-headed stepchild of Afrihost.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with these guys for another month. Everything was starting to look good again, and now the 25th has passed, their performances has dropped again.

50% Download/ 25% P2P on a Saturday morning. Really loving this. Let me guess, "We are testing for that sweet spot."

Ye, sure you are.

At least your real time service is working. I have telkom exchange fault so mine works when it wants. You guys could try business account for better p2p. I won't bother till telkom is sorted out.

18.8% Download/ 6.25% P2P as of posting this. Anyone at 100% please chime in...

you know what is funny........you will not see afriman comment on any of these comments........must have his pride!!!

Or still without power also at home maybe.

Like everything else in this country.....you pay for nothing!!!
But don't pay, then the whole country is on top of you
