Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback (Pt3)

I have long lost hope in afrihost to keep me happy by lets say providing an account that actually works because i am paying for a service that is basically dead... even on openweb by the 4th hour of issues they will provide a different account to use. You support is just like.... well we will fix your internet when we feel like it and we got paid for it anyways

Your account and query is with our Critical Care team, they're the best at what they do.
Lets allow them some time to get things checked out, you may be pleasantly surprised :)

Good choice, Afrihost is completely incapable of dealing with ADSL line support, and the fact they are completely indifferent to issues that they customers experience doesn't help either. I had an issue which persisted for months, still not fixed. Luckily I moved so its now some other chump's problem.

Best to move, if things are smooth then Afrihost is OK. But as soon as you have the slightest issue you are best off to just move. They will string you along till you go Insane. I had to create a ticket every day for a month before they stopped closing them immediately saying that they cant see an issue.

Worst ISP ever.

Good choice, I'm glad to see more people are seeing Afrihost for what they really are. One of worst ISPs in the country.

LOL, you thought they would get someone competent to deal with forums? They don't have one competent person on their payroll ... so yeah, sux for us.

MTN must have stepped hard on the necks of afrihost management to get them to buy less capacity for afrihost customers. Afrihost is now just another prisoner of one of the worst companies in south africa.

We all knew this day was coming... hellopeter seems to agree looks just like mtn's complains... :whistle:

Is that supposed to be acceptable on a 10Mbps line, or any line for that matter? Any suggestions on where to move to?
 
280 ping on local Teamspeak again! Its definitely not my exchange. My friend who is on the same exchange but with a different ISP is connected to the same server and his ping is 37.
Had to stop playing wow cause my international ping was 5800 and eventually disconnected.

EDIT: Just tested. When I use the free 1GB afrihost account then my ping is down to 37, but as soon as I switch back to uncapped, it goes back to 150 - 300

But remember...shaping does not effect latency. No sir not at all. /sarcasm

No matter what we experience and how much we post real world results, Arihost just sticks to the PR response script regarding this. *sigh*

Earlier today all my http downloads were blocked (download proceeded for like 20Kb, and then stopped completely, one example was SteamSetup.exe). Really pathetic stuff. Next month I'm with diff ISP, hope its better.
