Odd :(
Do you know what protocols the game uses? If it relies on P2P the traffic may be getting mis-classified.

I think it relies on p2p, I have commented to you guys before on this. Since more and more of your clients are playing it, please add an exception for it.

and this is the closest link I could get, this user couldn't play smite due to p2p throttling:

Our system is probably picking up the packet signatures as P2P and shaping it down :(
Drop our Support guys a line, see if something can be added/ amended on our end.

Hey all, anyone in the Bergvliet, cape town area experiencing a drop in sync rate since the load shedding ?

sync speed dropped from 10meg down to between 6-7meg.

Tried different modems,
Different filters
Different phone cable.
various afriTools in clientzone.

It just won't sync up to 10meg anymore

Hopefully there haven't been any power surges in the area. Is the actual line sync sitting lower than normal?

Yes :(

The actual line sync has decreased drastically since Friday... Can't tell if it's sync drop outs or not. Syncs up at really low rates..then drops out sometimes

Noticed something.

With shaping active last night I started up Mumble. No issues. Ran fine. As soon as I started up BF4 and the browser opened I started getting packet loss...crazy high packet loss.

I said it before and I will say it again - the packet shaping on BF4 is not right...it definitely effects mumble packets when shaping is active.

Hi there can you please have an test i have 50% packet loss on team speak and League of legends also get kicked for packet loss.

right now, 75% download shaping policy? Is that right for this time of the day?
Trying to download a 1.2gig file for my work which will now take more than 12 hours?
4 Meg line uncapped and the current download speed is averaging at around 25 KB/s

Shaping can be expected during peak times, sorry :(
Try the turbocharge, it'll help with the download.

75% of your line speed should NOT be 25kB/s...

You should be averaging around 300Kb/s...

It depends on the shaping level displayed on the ClientZone, the shaping for P2P and downloads can be up shaped down by 75%, meaning you have 15% of your line speed for downloads/ P2P.

If his shaping is showing 75%, then he has 75% line speed.

It's been said and explaimed many times by you guys that the percentage displayed is your current speed on those protocols not the inverse.

The only way your statement would be correct is if his clientzone said shaping 25%, which would then give him 25% of line speed. Which in any case would be closer to 100kB than 25kB.

You're right, the ClientZone will display what percentages of your line is available.
My last reply was clearly pre-coffee ;)

Afriman, I've been having a very weird issue since around the 18/19 Nov. Basically packetloss. But it's the way this packet loss shows up. The packet loss will show itself in games but NOT when I do a pingtest OR even when I find the IP that the game is connecting to.

It doesn't happen all day but it seems to happen early in the morning (7-10AM) and around 5PM. Now on the 20th my area's phone lines went down. No phones, no ADSL. So what could cause this issue? Is it a Telkom issue? No amount of pingtests will show the damn packetloss, only in games. I have changed out routers as well as try the same game on a different device. Same thing. Changed DNS, same thing.

I tried using Zertops Tool http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/607090-quot-Is-it-my-Line-quot-Report-Tool

It seems to ping the gateway shown on the router, in this case 105.236.0.129. The tool also says that there may be something wrong. and showed and average ping to be about ~60ms. I waited about 25mins (5:25PM) and ran the tool again, now it shows 15ms and 3% packet loss. I'm still getting massive packet loss in games after both tests.

War Thunder with anything from 50-90% loss. DayZ wont load in correctly due to connection as well as Battlefield 4 will not load into game. Mechwarrior: Online is the same.

Sounds very odd.
Drop me a PM with some test results and a ticket ID and I can check things out from there :)
