Current speed test, 4Mb uncapped:

Experienced a little lag tonight playing Fifa and one disconnect, when I was 4 goals up. :(

The disconnect is annoying hey... Costs me contracts and fut coins... Haha! It has improved but still disconnects at random times.

Don't really like the Afrihost throttling.

On my 1Mbps line downloads max out at 30KB and using multiple downloads to different sources it also max out in total to that speed. This consistence of this can only be throttling as it stays exactly the same as it does not vary per number of downloads or after hours.
My YouTube streaming is good.

With such fixed QoS compared to Mweb which at least gives you full speed after hours why does Afrihost not just give us their QoS rules seeing AFAIK they are not adjusting it based on the load on their network.

I find I still use the same amount of traffic just I have switched to using streaming services that don't get throttled like downloads do.

Can't believe these bunch of idiots still has any customers left after such a long time with crap service. Bunch of idiots debit everyone on the 1st the same day the connection goes down the drain basically robbing thousands of users out of their hard earned money. WTF are people still trying to use this cr@p??? Cancelled by the 6th allready what a great investment.

Here's hoping you loose a cr@p load more users and end up failing.

If you've left, why are you still on this forum?
I'd rather hear the feedback (good and bad) of actual users.
I still have hope in AH that they will get everything sorted. I'll personally wait it out till the IPC arrives in Durban in Feb.

Up until 08h00 things were so good, now D/L under 0.8mbps and ping up 25ms (204ms was so nice) are 4mb uncapped throttled at0800 or what???

Test conducted on 15 November 2012 08:20
Download Speed: 725 kbps (90.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 317 kbps (39.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 231 ms

Yes there have been some issues, but my speeds have been good except for one or two days.

Even with all the crap they are having the accounts are still beter than anything WA has and at least they are honest about there being problems instead of just denying it like some other ISP's

Hi there

Can you please PM me your Afrihost account details so we can check this for you

PE was fine last night, no issues - full speed ahead on 4mb/s uncapped.
Youtube perfect, and a torrent test earlier the evening was at full speed too.
There was no throttling after 8.
I had found that, if I do have any issues, I reset my router....
I assume that, because they are working on issues, a reconnect would probably sort out the issues.

AArgh!! My connection was working fine until about 7 this morning, now just dead. DSLAM LED lights up, but Internet one not. WTH Afrihost!????

Double Aaaargghh!!!! Just called their Support line, was 5th in line, then 4th in line, then:

"We have a high influx of calls at the moment and cannot answer your call"...

WTH is going on (or what is NOT going on) at Afrihost!?!?!?!

Every single day a new issue with them..

*Looking for MWEB Guys's contact details for 7 day free trial*

Wednesday night i used my capped account and everything was flying, the uncapped account was so bad alot of DC.
last night the capped and the uncapped account was bad got frustrated of all the DC.
When normal browsing you need to refresh the page more than once before everything display.

i just hope they sort this out soon.

Well since 8 this morning my speeds have gone to under 1mb, last night was super fast, hence the question

I was shaped to 1 meg on everything last night. I could not break 120kbps, even though I'm on 4 meg uncapped.

I'm guessing I am a heavy usage users, and I've been shaped for a reason.

My ping and latency was really good though. I only got one disconnect the whole evening.

I doubt it has to do with the amount of data you're using. I'm experiencing the same on my capped account.

If this statement came about sooner, I would never have canceled my account. It was all the guessing bases on hear-say that pissed me off to the point where I jumped ship.

I cancelled two days ago and chose to have my line transferred back to Telkom. Is it too late too undo this?

Hi There Please be advised that it is not too late, would you like for me to remove that for you?

Ugh

First Support rep said my port at the exchange is blocked, he apparently reset it. Did 2 modem power down and up and no internet connection.

Second Support rep said he'll look, just give him a second. I held on for 10 minutes (yes, as per my phone's display) without a peep. Dropped the call.

No feedback from Afrihost rep on these forums either....

*SIGH*

I must admit that my experience has been much better the last week. I played Diablo 3 yesterday (afternoon and later at night) with no disconnects or spikes in latency. I scheduled about 10gigs to download from 11pm which was finished this morning.
