When are you guys going to offer static IP services & Bonded DSL solutions??

I would love ditch my Mweb static IP service, I have moved all my accounts over from Mweb to Afrihost with the exception of the Static IP account I have with Mweb...

If you tell me in the next two months or so......... you would make my day! :p

Shaping is applied from highest users to lowest. As the network becomes more congested more people get shaped, at the moment you aren't being shaped (which is a good thing, right ;)) probably because people aren't home yet.

:( We don't have an eta yet on when that will happen.
 
seriously afrihost? throttling my downloads to 12,5%? that is ridiculous. when i signed up with you guys I could download around 120gb on my 1meg uncapped. nowadays i'll be lucky if i get 70gb. currently on 59gb and my download speed is an amazing 12kb/s. that is truly ridiculous. think its time for a change of isp

Anybody here do a bit of newshosts and torrents?

Wanted to know what the constant speeds etc and overall experience is?

Also how is gaming etc?

Playing on counterstrike local averages at 11 ping and even once went as low as 5 ping

I don't do gaming, although that has been answered, p2p and newsgroups slow as hell but you don't have to watch or wait for it ...
If you want the news server update then wait till after midnight.
I am on 160GB on a 2mb package


100% REALTIME SPEED
Shaping Policy: 25% Download/ 6.5% P2P

I get around 200 ms to WoW EU. Not too sure with regards to local gaming.
 
Hi Afriman, I have been experiencing very slow speeds for ages, especially after hours. I'm on 2mb uncapped and haven't been able to stream standard quality video for at least a month. Please hear my call for a magical fix.

Me too but seems I am being shaped according to client zone.

Checked after posting that and wasn't being shaped at the time. However, for most of this week when I am shaped, the internet generally feels sluggish.

If I open up Firefox when not being shaped, Google opens instantly. When I am, it takes 30 secs to a minute to load.
