Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Great to hear some users are getting better performance, but as I said we'll continue testing and trouble shooting until we're confident that the issue has been resolved. We made some interim changes last night for better performance, but there are still more changes and upgrades underway.

Got my account about 3 days ago. Since then ive seen better upload speeds than download.

Sadly, the slowness has returned ...

If I look at the speedtest graph as it's running, it looks very much like throttling. It keeps on bopping up and pulled down, trying to get up again but pulled down etc. etc.

Were the changes completely disabling NNTP during the day? I can't even connect to news servers overseas now - just times out.

EDIT: Coincidence or conspiracy, seems to have kicked in shortly after posting this. Don't mind me. :)

Anyone else having problems to access gmail (from outlook) during daytime hours? After hours I don't have any problems.... (Afrihost 4 Mb uncapped)

Just one more thing, do any of you guys get full speeds when downloading directly from a website? I dont get anything over 110KB/s, the only time I get full speed on my line is when i stream off youtube and when downloading torrents(sometimes)... I know they(Afrihost) shapes our usage, but whats the point of having a 4meg account when I hardly get 4meg speeds when I need it?
 
Noticed a big improvement since yesterday afternoon and my line is running full speed on all protocols.Great stuff!!
 
I am on a capped account with extremely high latency to local/int servers at the moment. 300ms to myadsl.co.za at the moment, normally between 50-60ms from our location. Seems to be affecting capped users too....congested IPC link I guess.
 
At work we use a capped account too, experienced the same issue. Though if i look at my trace route's It points to Internet solutions.

I come home switch to my Telkom account as my Afrihost uncapped is useless, do a few trace routes and everything seems fine.
seems to be IS DSL accounts allocated to Afrihost.

I’m not happy, as I Cancelled a perfectly good Openweb account for this. it’s been a whole week.
Works out to almost R1000 for 80Gig uncapped. Compared to my 200Gig I used before.
