Getting 0.8mbps here on my 2meg account too :( I got an email yesterday from afrihost saying all their lines should be back to 100% speeds...
I was complaining about the daytime speeds being slow, and they said it was the IS downtime, which i thought was over, and now this....maybe back to mweb is a good idea :/

Just got off the line with AH support and they gave me a test account to use while they "investigate" my own account.
Speeds back to normal now...

on a 2Mb and only get 1Mb speeds ... this is ridiculous ....its after 7pm ... so what is the excuse!!!
might as well downgrade to 1Mb .. at least then I wil be getting what i pay for :)

No, you will then be getting 256kb speeds based on the 4:1 downgrade most of us are getting.

What does the 4Mb uncapped offering from mweb cost? Not going to struggle much longer with AH unreliable speed.

(and while I type this a mweb ad airs on tv) :-) Sign?

Oi! Afriman, WTF? I've been pioneering afrihost between all my family and friends and now that I managed to get all to switch, they're all looking at me funny... Get your friggen act together!

4MB uncapped currently

Be thankful you guys don't have to put up with a congested exchange. Read it and weep (or laugh).

I'll pay any price as long as I get my full 1Mbps speeds the whole day, they can shape me during the night because I never download then.

Dont know what the people working at Afrihost is thinking, WHY go over to MTN when Internet Solutions worked great, they never had problems and my speeds were perfect.

Lol u funny. These speed issues are all related to IS...

Looks like the speed is good this morning:

Will check at 11pm and see if Afrihost is going to throttle us to death today too.

If the speed problems are with IS why is my capped account running at full speed and my uncapped account running at 20% of its speed?

Both is running on IS.

Exactly, that is why I said that they should stay with IS and not go over to MTN because that is when the crap started.

Well we have basically 2 weeks left. If nothing happens before the 25th, I'm moving over to M-Web. I'm sure most of you share my sentiments?

I bought a WebAfrica 2GB capped product, just to be able to browse properly, last night.

I can't believe the lack of AfriHost presence in this topic in the last 24 hours.
Guess they've decided to rather not bother. Admitting defeat perhaps?
I'm really getting tired of the unreliable speeds.
As a web designer, i'm online all day long, upload and downloading content.
This is really eating into my time, and time is money.
Starting to regret moving from MWEB to Afrihost just to save a bit of money......
Guess the honeymoon period has passed.

+1

Mweb's just R2 more expensive than AH (1Mb package)...

No AH is R297(all inc) and Mweb is R199 data only + Line R165(Telkom) = R364. So you save R67pm and R804 per year

I feel sorry for you guys with slow speeds, mine is just fine more than fine 4mb line
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Durban
Download: 4.37 Mbps
Upload: 1.08 Mbps
Ping: 54 ms
Im saving R202pm and R2424 per year.....
