Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

I'm not hiding anything, thats what its showing. Just posting my results with the 4MB uncapped promotion they gave away at rAge.

PS I also updated it with my WebAfrica account for comparison.

Well i'm glad to see i'm not the exception. Have two uncapped lines with Afrihost, both are dog slow.

<rant>

Funny thing is, I do a speedtest, and a line check in the AH control panel, send the results to them, then I get a generic email back asking me to do a line test, ping test and all sorts of other crap when i've JUST emailed this to them... and they KNOW there is a problem on their uncapped accounts.

Afrihost, get you bloody support agents up to scratch! Why do I need to visit myBB to get an answer. Nothing worse then being treated like a number.

The promotion accounts are on the MTN backbone btw - which may be why no ISP is showing

Same thing happened twice already today. Wish they would realize, if the port has been recreated and the account reset/refreshed once, is that not enough? How many times do they think it takes in order for it to work?

Seems there is a serious lack of communication there. Afriman says there is something wrong to one user. Should the service desk not know this information then? So they can simply tell the complaining client that there is a problem. Instead of doing unnecessary work.
 
Mtn test account now up to 435KB/s on 4Mbps uncapped. Huge improvement from IS

Could also be because not many users are on the backbone at the moment

The above was done over teamviewer so a few kB/s would have been lost due to that.... ;)

Ooooh... I'm getting excited again. Cautious but excited. Let's hope MTN fixes things.
 
Speedtest to mtn server, 5mbps on 6 meg line, and 4.2 to Riyadh.
 
I am done:

Paying my outstanding account tomorrow (R397 for this months uncapped). Ensured not enough in daily account to pay you ****ers this month but like the TWAT I appear to be gave capped a chance. What a CNUT I am. Balance that is reflected is incorrect (should your customer service plonkers ever decide to work/check) some amounts should not be on the account (as per email dated below, 6 months ago).

It is a shambles, you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. I am an old Scottish soldier ( and have kept every email correspondence from the last 2 years, yes a pedant maybe). Should any of you individual tossers wish to pay me a visit I shall happily greet you with a respective size 13 brogue up your ass. I despise liars and your boss ( Mr Pisser) is welcome to visit me, just give me some advance warning so that I can purchase enough **** roll to throttle the brown liquid he most undoubtedly will be excreting.
