My latest email to Afrihost:

Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
We're now going in circles. If you look the previous emails all the line stats have already been supplied.
To recap, there is nothing wrong with the physical line or the connection - I can stream youtube HD with any pausing to buffer. Speedtest results are all very good regardless of afrihost, afrigamer, or Telkom.
But other streaming sites such as gorrilavid seem to be severely throttled - this is supported by the fact that I can stream flawlessly from these sites early morning (6am) but not later on in the day or evening. And it's not a local congestion issue either as Telkom streams these sites flawlessly during the day when afrihost lags.
Again this is enough evidence that this is not a line speed issue, a router issue or anything else my end, but clearly a network issue.
And the fact that Pietermaritzburg seems to be routed through Kimberley? (looking at the speedtest.net distances between Capetown Jhb and Durban) still hasn't been explained.
The following fact also remains unanswered: I was able to stream flawlessly from these sites prior to the MTN migration, and I can still stream flawlessly from these sites using a telkom account.

To emphasis the point - it just took less than 10 minutes to fully buffer a 40 minute 85MB video from Gorillavid (6.50am); but that same video took more than an hour yesterday afternoon - on a 10meg uncapped account. That's network issue, not my line.

Diablo 3 is still useless on this account. 230 to 600ms

I just logged in here to say the same thing. Been playing for a couple of hours without issue. All of a sudden, around 3pm, BAM, it went for a ball of *****.

Right now it is UNPLAYABLE, and incredibly frustrating. AfriMan, there must be some other way that we can try help your tech guys to troubleshoot this...? Tracerts and pings are useless if we cannot ping the game servers.

Guys, I am definitely aware of the gaming latency issues, and this is a big priority for us. We definitely take your frustrations seriously and we're not ignoring this issue.

I'm trying to find out what exactly we can do, and what tests or diagnostics we can run to isolate where this is coming from. Personally installed and played Diablo and not getting this problem, so we need to figure out whether there is any commonalities tat can help us isolate and eliminate this problem.

Thanks for your patience, we'll get you back to killing things as soon as possible :)

Also back to ridiculous pings in game. This inconsistency is really getting tiresome.

Unable to post my speedtests, but getting the following on a 2Meg line:

Local ping 138ms upload 1.65 Mbps download 0.40Mbps
International ping 433ms upload 0.19Mbps down 0.38Mbps

This is my epic 4MB uncapped line:

Man I am getting so tired of this.

must be a locolized issue.
mine is working perfectly and not a single problem since the switch over.

EDIT: I notice International is crap.

Diablo 3 Update: Working again as of 20h30 on Sunday evening. There is a clear night-and-day difference between now, and when its borked. 205ms constant now.

What does this mean? Is it only when the network is saturated / maxed that we have problems?

Edit: Hmmm, jinxed it perhaps... Stuffed again. Sigh. Back to FNB Connect I guess.

Getting very slow speeds lately. almost like im back on 384 and almost like some throttling taking place. I have a 1 Meg line and my downloads isn't high.

It might be related to a IPC issue as everyone in the Western Cape seems to have a issue with gaming latencies.
