I **** you not. Ping are terrible too.

I have actually requested about being moved back to IS or if we are allowed to request that more than once via email and have not received a single reply. Nice job Afrihost.

Afrihost Clinches ISP of the Year - AGAIN!

Thursday, 11 October, 2012 at 13:07 - Press Releases

There was much speculation about which ISP would win this coveted award at the MyBroadBand conference on 10th October, and we were understandably nervous having won the previous year. But thanks to the votes from loyal and happy Afrihost clients, we won ISP of the Year for the second year running – not bad for an ISP that’s only been in the game since 2009.

Enjoy it while it last. Not so sure if you will get it again next year if you are putting all your trust in MTN. O yeah I am posting this here, because the moderator on Afrihost Newsroom don't like negative stuff to be written there. Like my previous negative post never went up. :D :D

you're dreaming if you think they will move you back..

I would okay if they could tell us the problem, but they just shrugging their shoulders.

YEAH BABY 10Mb line. I'm getting exactly what I wanted out of this whole move from my previous ISP. Love it......................*Bang................headshot.

Yeah its the biggest joke ever. Running a network and not even knowing how to fix it.

We are happy to report that the move was a big success for the entire Afrihost family and that the majority of our clients are enjoying faster and more stable internet speeds than ever. The network built for us by MTN is performing amazingly!

I think someone needs to get back to reality, or the network needs to get to this perception.

Can someone from afrihost please tell us wtf is actually going on? My ping is perfectly fine during the day. Then when it becomes Post business hours, its beyond useless. like seriously, i love afrihost, but sort this **** out or it might be time to switch out. I really do like afrihost, but i cant deal with this ping at night.

My afrihost 10 meg uncapped is as fast as ever :)

Downloading at 1megabyte a second in the day and evenings on torrents and http.

@Afriman - You people dont know WHAT you are doing when it comes to networks, YET again tonight the latency is pathetic.
1 1 ms 1 ms <1 ms 10.0.0.2
2 9 ms 9 ms 10 ms 105-xxx-xx-1-esr-lo.mtnbusiness.co.za [105.x.x.x]
3 249 ms 251 ms 251 ms ipc-recieve-jh-2a.za.mtnbusiness.net [41.181.178.17]
4 272 ms 262 ms 269 ms qux-jh-dca-2.za-b.za.mtnbusiness.net [41.181.165.115]
5 220 ms 217 ms 217 ms jh-dca-2.za--qux-b.za.mtnbusiness.net [41.181.16.114]
6 426 ms 428 ms 430 ms
Perhaps just go back to IS least the LOCAL latency wasnt pathetic like this.
That looks to me like:
* The MTN Business IPC link is congested / overloaded
* The buffers on the MTN router are misconfigured

We seem to have borked this good and proper! For various reasons the new shaping and QoS policies were not fully implemented and what was implemented which we had hope would alleviate the issue was not sufficient to resolve the issues.

We're hat in hand here saying we messed up. Our directors are personally overseeing that all the policies are now fully implemented by end of business today with exception, and at whatever cost to Afrihost, as they will not accept a repeat of the last two days poor service.

Changes are being planned as we speak and this is definitely the one and only thing on our minds at the moment.

Truly sorry guys, we're confident we'll get this right.

Yeah Afrihost / MTN is better than Vodacom's double up promotion. After hours you get double your latency for free no need to opt in for in. :D :D or pay R5 xD
