If you hate it so much, cancel and go elsewhere. I haven't seen a single positive contribution to this thread from you.

Some people actually spent money on this crap, and cant just go and apply for another till the end of the month.

Other ISPs are offering a free month when you sign up, so yes you can.

I'm fairly sure if you pm AfriMan and ask nicely a pro-rata refund can be made, too.

11 days after the "seamless" switch and things are worse than ever. show me the positive side

Freedom of choice, for one.
Secondly I have had more problem free days than problem days, and the problem days are not as bad as they have been.
Thirdly, it's not the end of the world. It's the Internet.

Rather than just moan and moan and moan, vote with your money. I'm sure you'll be happier.

Problem free? lol sure.My axxess account wont even connect now. So now im having to use my FNB. But there network notices ALL systems fine uhuh sure. It might not be the end of the world, but the my point is if they had done or planned this properly all this headache would have been avoided yet here we are.

just had to connect with my FNB Connect account after losing all connectivity with Afrihost... Modem cant log in with either capped or uncapped accounts.... yet website says network fully operational.

And no Callcenter.... its NOT TELKOM SINCE IM ON MY ADSL RIGHT NOW WITH AN FNB ACCOUNT...

but alas...

...this is....

..... the final straw.

will you be satisfied with eskom if you only had electricity 5 days of the week and you can only turn on 1 appliance at a time?

Yep same happening with my axxess account. Their radius servers have gone tits up.

Just giving my experience.

Also, unless you were involved in the planning, you can't comment on it IMHO.

For the record, my 6mb line:

I guess what I'm saying is if it's the bad for you, why stay and complain?
If Eskom only supplied me 5 days a week I'd make another plan.

Oh please get off your high horse, i dont need to be involved in the planning to know they didn't do it properly. I mean come on implement QoS AFTER they move everyone onto it, no IPC in cape town. I mean seriously these two core items alone should have been prioritized before even contemplating a move like this. And i will comment all i want i pay for a product i expect service i had no issues with IS prior to this abomination of a move.

Sinbad reset your router or disconnect your account, lets see if you come back ;)

Perhaps because people budget monthly and spent it on this already? And a pro-rata is not going to cover it for the rest of the month, nor is a 1gb free account from some other provider going to suite their needs?

And eskom has other alternatives I can pay for provision of electricity? Fail comparison much?

The IPC was a planned decision in order to reduce complexity in the initial stages of the network's evolution, in fact.

As for resetting my router? Naah. If radius servers are down, that would be silly. And radius servers have very little to do with IPC or network capacity or anything
Iike that, and an outage on them would be completely unrelated to performance issues on the network.

I'm not on my high horse. I just don't see the value in complaining and complaining and criticizing and gaating on like an old woman. Provide feedback, sure. Insult and degrade people, not on. Constructive criticism is well received. What some of you guys do, if I were an afrihost employee, would cause me to put your complaints at the bottom of the queue. Luckily I'm not.

As for your pro rata comments... Well, you just show your ignorance. And I wasn't talking about 1gb accounts either.

Anyone else having issues with their account.. mine just wont connect at all. im using FNB to type this

Much better from last night around midnight. Seems to have slowed down again around 20 minutes ago, but speed gaining again.

Whatever you guys did last night, Afrihost, it seems to have made a difference for me (at least). Looks like you guys are on the right track... Don't let me distract you, back to the war room with you... off you go... keep on it, and all that.

Aaaaand, it's gone. Broken...

Solar power with a minivan sized UPS in your basement?

so we using apples vs pears now ?

If I don't like afrihost I can switch to another ISP. If I don't like eskom I'm pretty ****ed and have to stick it out with them or try my luck with solar. DSL and wirelress/cell isn't the same thing and so is eksom VS solar.

Was that your clone ? :)

Been having varying speeds since 2:10pm today.
