Afrihost Uncapped ADSL Feedback

The IPC was a planned decision in order to reduce complexity in the initial stages of the network's evolution, in fact.

As for resetting my router? Naah. If radius servers are down, that would be silly. And radius servers have very little to do with IPC or network capacity or anything
Iike that, and an outage on them would be completely unrelated to performance issues on the network.

I'm not on my high horse. I just don't see the value in complaining and complaining and criticizing and gaating on like an old woman. Provide feedback, sure. Insult and degrade people, not on. Constructive criticism is well received. What some of you guys do, if I were an afrihost employee, would cause me to put your complaints at the bottom of the queue. Luckily I'm not.

I know radius has nothing to do with IPC gawd, lol. I am referring to the radius having issues now due to the inability to connect. Well that planning for the IPC was piss poor in reality, degrade half their client base because of complexity. Is it not afrihosts motto to have the clients happiness at heart?

If you where an afrihost employee it wouldn't bother me in the slightest, people have been more than accommodating towards afrihost's sheer lack of getting this network running properly, it has been over two weeks now and has become something of a joke.

Push the complaints down that's cool as-well when the directors don't get their dividends because of mass client loss then we will see how happy they are.

One question: when the network is running well do you also add feedback?

so we using apples vs pears now ?

If I don't like afrihost I can switch to another ISP. If I don't like eskom I'm pretty ****ed and have to stick it out with them or try my luck with solar. DSL and wirelress/cell isn't the same thing and so is eksom VS solar.

Was that your clone ? :)

Been having varying speeds since 2:10pm today.

Sorry i don't follow your clone statement...

I've been down the road with eskom so i know how **** they are.

Dude i have more contact with most of the techs at Axxess than most people, im always trying to help diagnose issues for them giving them tons of trace routes, pings, stats etc. So yes when the network is performing in decent parameters they are informed. I mean i dont do it on a daily basis going "Braa's your network is lekker today, keep up the good work :D".

That's cool then. In that case my comments are not aimed at you.

Anyone else having issues with their account.. mine just wont connect at all. im using FNB to type this

Same here, cannot authenticate

Yup ... can't authenticate here either.

So the next time they ask me to do tests with my backup I'm going to tell them to shove it because I might not be able to reconnect.

And their so-called 24-hour support ... God what a joke.

But ever since afriost dipped their fingers into axxess its gone for a spiraling ball of ****. They should have just maintained their own company brand, and stuck with their own backbone provider (IS). And then most of their clients would not be having this issue. Im pretty sure the majority of people that had issues with IS was because they had downloaded near 1TB a month. I on average did around 150GB and was never throttled, shaped, etc.

And there is visibly a problem with the radius, yet their site indicates all is cool. Lol. Even Axxess got back to me now saying it ain't.

Do you guys get better speed when the connection is encrypted (eg. SSTP, SSL or PPTP) ?

I'd imagine the encrypted packet overhead will cause more bandwidth consumption and as such more shaping, perhaps their protocol analyzers would pick it up as attempted p2p traffic.

I'm currently getting a solid ±2.86mbs which is the rate I've limited the stream to. You'd note the spike in the start before I restricted it...

We are being screwed, I even read on hellopeter.com people complained without feedback and am leaving Afrihost and Axxess. One would swear we are asking for rocket science, although that has been done over and over to near perfection. I now read on Afrihost that their network is running as expected (network fully operational with green blinking led). Huh? Is this the new service? I cannot refer anybody to this type of network. And I want to leave it too. Fnuk!!!
