AfriHost uncapped ADSL here soon

8:46 :(. I want to cancel my telkom accounts but will only do so after I have my afrihost uncapped account.

I see the news page on afrihost website currently says...
This page is currently undergoing maintenance.

I hope that is a sign they are updating the uncapped news :)

Hope they are better than MWEB, another shake up will be just what we need. I keep refreshing the news out of anticipation.

I can get onto Afrihost's website, still no sign of the uncapped offerings though.

Does anyway know how many connections you can have with these uncapped offerings ? I beleive with mweb its 2 but I could be wrong.

As far as I know MWEB is just one concurrent connection. The ISP's will lose out if they give any more than that.

Anyone keeping score how many times this question has been asked and answered? :D

It is one only.

From their T&C:

"3.5 Concurrency

3.5.1 You may only have the following connections to the ADSL Service at any given time, unless otherwise agreed:
3.5.1.1 1 (one) ADSL connection; and

3.5.1.2 1 (one) dial-up connection (if applicable) (analogue or 64K ISDN only) to Telkom’s network at any given time."

My guess is that they'll try and break the R200 barrier, so something like R199 for 384k uncapped.

I am not a heavy downloader, but I will support Afrihost if they when they bring out their uncapped offering, if it is one of the cheapest. Out of principle the internet should be uncapped.

Unfortunately my experience with Afrihost has been nothing but slow speeds, and a control panel from hell. So i'll be keen to see what they come up with :)

Funny. My experience with afrihost has been exactly the opposite.
Downloads run at 420KB/S...
