FNB is stopping their Uncapped service in a couple of months, so I have to start ISP shopping again. How is the Afrihost network these days? And how does the Home uncapped service compare to Premium uncapped from a user experience point of view?

We mostly stream Netflix and browse, would the Home uncapped be ok to use?

Or would I be better off with a 150GB Capped service than both the above? I don't have accurate usage stats (thanks FNBConnect), but I estimate our usage to be around the 100-120GB/month mark.

I have Premium with them. I've never had any streaming issues what so ever. Even after a months heavy use it always runs fine.

Try their 100GB capped package for 199 and get the afrihost+ add-on for extra R99 you get double data and more so that would be 200GB and on top of that you will have Data roll over :)

Sounds like a good plan!

I'm also on Afrihost's 100GB capped package. Works like a charm, much better than uncapped. On the rare occasions I go over 100GB, topups are ridiculously cheap.

I agree, i took my average download and got that as my cap on Afrihost best decision ever i have never run out of data after all the free data they give out and always responsive never have to be worried about shaping or anything of the sort.

Exactly what I have, Afrihost 100 GB capped and Afrihost plus which gives me another 100 GB per month, so in effect 200 GB for R300 per month, then with Afrihost plus I also get 500 MB mobile data per month, so my Afrihost plus sub which is R99 buys me 100 GB ADSL and 500 MB mobile data.

I've tried their premium uncapped, streaming and downloading was satisfactory also works out cheaper than capped IMO. I'm trying out their home uncapped for this month, if it suits my needs I might stay on this package instead and save a bit.

If I was on a faster line than 2Mb, I would probably go for the capped and afrihost+ bundle though.

Edit:
I decided to switch to the 100GB+AfrihostPlus bundle for this month as a trial, only cost me R30 pro-rata to switch.

I'm going to go for their 100GB capped package with Afrihost plus. That will give me 200GB plus free after hours bandwidth, and a 500MB sim card for my phone, which will reduce my bandwidth costs.

Im on the home premium option and I get throttled especially torrents but I d/l around 300g /month.

why did you not move to a capped account, and schedule your downloads after hours. That way you get throttled

Any got a home package?
Are you happy with it?
My home connection is only used for streaming (Netflix/Youtube/Spotify).
I currently have a Premium 20+ uncapped package, wondering if it's overkill since I don't torrent much, and also don't do online gaming,
