Afrihost uncapped mobile data?

When will afrihost provide upcapped mobile data?

Hello!

There is no ETA for Uncapped Mobile Data, at the moment Uncapped Mobile Data isn't really feasible, as it would entail shaping services to the degree where the connection would be close to unusable.

I do not see "decent" uncapped mobile data coming anytime soon... Telkom Mobile and MTN have some degree of "uncapped" but the throttling is so horrific its sad (I think its 128Kbps or 256Kbps.... not sure)... Would love a mobile uncapped service that can offer at least 2 or 4Mbps throttle speed after the Fair Usage Limit is reached.

I'm definitely in agreement there!

I think the major stumbling block has always been the cost of Mobile Data, once you get an account that does allow up to 2Mbps or 4Mbps the cost means it will probably just be cheaper to purchase that volume of data as part of Bundle.

There is actually a service provider out there that offers 2 meg uncapped service. Personally I wouldn't recommend it cause they shape many protocols. You lucky if you able to achieve 80 gigs a month.

There's uncapped LTE from Telkom Mobile.

LTE from telkom rofl, if you are lucky enough to actually be inside there coverage range, which if you look on there coverage map is actually kinda small, and they haven't bother upgrading any base station since launch if you also follow there coverage map, I'm paying for LTE from Telkom now for months and I can't even use it because of zero coverage.

Telkom sux...................

I wish I understood why mobile data tariffs are still so exorbitant?

Is it really high over heads? Or is it high profit margins?

Either why I'm bloody resentful of it.

I'm away and had to top up, 1gb @R89!!!! These days that would get you 40gb on an DSL equivalent!!

I am in search for uncapped mobile broadband for capetown area.Is there no provider out there?.I see telkom got in jhb and its a kinda auction thing wtf.
So there is basically nothing for R500 out there.sad

The monopoly wins again

People like me, have to make use of mobile data; since Telkom just do not cover my area with copper. It is like this - Telkom installed cables, cables got stolen and Telkom will just not install cables again. Thank you thieves!

This makes it very costly for services you made use of before when having uncapped ADSL: Hulu, DropBox, Cloud backup and so forth. So I would love mobile data to compete with ADSL prices. I am sure they make enough money just from all the mobile phones using data.

Somehow I do understand - If mobile data competed with ADSL why then who would want to make use of ADSL in the first place? Who wants to wait for a line installation or deal with Telkom? (Home users specifically)
