I'm just afraid of the afrihost account blocked page, I got a few of those just before I cancelled my old afrihost account, do people still get issues with it?
just called telkom about my adsl line and they said it could take up to 2 weeks just to let me know if i can have a line installed ! then if i can they will take up to another 4 weeks to have the line installed 
oh well maybe prices will drop even further by then

Sweeeeeet! Just phoned Telkom and my ADSL line is finally activated. Will do the self install this afternoon.
Now I just have to wait to hear what Afrihost has to offer….

Just phone them tomorrow or in an hour, and ask them to escalate it cause you are going on a buisness trip, next week for a month, and would like it installed b4 then.
I did and within 1week i had line installed, and then ordered adsl, and had that installed. took literally 1 week in total including weekends.

It basically took 8 days from the day I applied for a telephone line, to having my ADSL activated. I still need to confirm this afternoon that the line is in fact activated but according to the person at Telkom it is.
Maybe the fact that I phoned them twice every single day to get a progress report played a part...

call telkom 10219 and do everything through their CapeTown office--do not go to your local telkomdirect stores, they are a bunch of slow, good-for-nothing staff-I had mine in also a week.
