So I knew this would not be easy. Murphy's law rule 1725.
Asked for my line to be upgraded to VDSL 20meg and (after waiting more than the std. 48 hours) it seems it has been botched.
I have a new Zyxel VGM1312-B10A with factory settings, which worked fine until today on ADSL 10meg.
The Profile it reports when getting sync has now been set to:
ADSL2+ Annex A
Traffic Type: ATM Mode

And while the modem is showing connection to Afrihost and syncing at a weird 15.321 Mbps downstream, no data is being sent or received.
My understanding is that this is probably a port bugger up, the profile should have been set to VDSL2 Annex B, PTM mode.
The AH Clientzone still shows "10 meg sync" although it now reflects I should have a 20 meg VDSL line. Line testing using the clientzone fails.
All requests for help via support and Afrireps .... are silent.
I suspect this will take a long, painful time to resolve.
Afriguy/Afriman - dropped you a PM to this thread to track resolution. Please get someone from technical involved.
