Afrihost Vodacom Fixed 5G thread

Interestingly it no longer shows home connect as the ISP but now airmobile.
Mine still shows Home Connect, nothing changed on my side. Maybe you are one of the lucky ones that got a normal public IP?

I've ordered this and the router but payment hasn't gone through? Which I find strange, shouldn't it take payment for router immediately?

On clientzone it says everythings payed and up to date.

Hi.

It creates a debit order, which can run within 72 hours.

5G down again. constantly stuck on limited connection. Having to revert to my Telkom LTE... Again...

Losing internet intermittently now just hard down router shows white light but throughput is dead

Ping statistics for 1.1.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 41, Received = 39, Lost = 2 (4% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 41ms, Maximum = 200ms, Average = 72ms

Everyday loss here

Its so odd, because none of the other vodacom fixed LTE/5G services have issue and vodacoms network is generally solid. @Afrigirl Can you guys please give this some serious attention? Because its been consistently shaky since I signed up. Can I cancel without paying the penalty? Can you guys just switch me to the MTN home 5g and not penalise me for anything?

I'd be a little more understanding if I only had issues during peak time, then its clearly a capacity issue, but the issues are random and the actual issues are weird. Speeds will be fine but its like the DNS lookup/routing is messed up

Still dealing with the same issue.

I'm admitting defeat lads. Will cancel in June and head back to Telkom LTE with an antenna.
These ping results are shocking and well the packet loss speaks for itself.

exactly the same issue's Afrihost Vodacom LTE pro ...

had this same issue exactly 1 month ago
back and forth with afrihost , "no issue", "investigating" , "fixed" - but sadly no its not usable every second page load hangs

got fed up and cancelled this week - to switch to MTN , Capped 400gb/400gb

MTN stable signal 5g, but get a lekker 30Mbps/30Mbps connection for R749 on a capped connection! , is ridiculous , going ask support about speed but prepared for "restart your router", "leave it off for 5min" , without resolution.

its such a waste of time

I think I'm also close to giving up on the Afrihost Vodacom 5G. I get a lot of packet loss pinging 1.1.1.1, I can't remember when last I was able to stream successfully from chaturbate, I don't know what the problem is, but I don't feel like it's anything I can improve from my side by trying a different router location to improve signal, etc.
