Afrihost Vodacom Fixed 5G thread

I haven't really had issues with this package on my end, I really think it is just area dependant, but Afrihost can definitely work on the routing, with a normal vodacom data sim I got way better latency than what this is providing.

I have also restarted my router several times, even changed tower, and I still get the same public IP, not that I am complaining

But something did drastically improve my latency dropped back to 30ms and packet loss is non existent, anyone had a similar experience?

Haven't had my connection for a week yet, but am probably cancelling soon. Wanted to test going over the threshold because my mtn gets capped to 2mbps when I cross it. Got the top tier vodacom from afrihost and got limited to 20mbps as intended after reaching 600gb

okay cool, 45gb later (not forced downloading or anything. Was on youtube and gaming) download speed on the router dropped to 0 and will not move. This was right after I finished playing a game of league of legends. I'll stick to mtn even if it gets ludicrously slow durring the final week of the month as I reach my "cap" rather be slow and still connected than get completely cut off from a so called "uncapped" package. No shaping of certain protocols, nothing like that just pure internet "bliss" as in afrikaans ons het jou internet dood geblis. Can't even open a bloody google search.

Sad thing is they cannot even blame tower congestion since I get over 500mbps before the "cap" and still get 500mbps + on my phone after the cut off. Small town no one is using this damn tower.
Also will be steering clear of afrihost in general if this isn't resolved in my ticket.

Hi.

May I please have the ticket reference.

Still offline by the way
Thank you.

The SIM has been active since 27 May. For the remaining days of May, a pro-rata data allocation was applied. By yesterday morning, that allocation had been fully used.
I apologise for you being offline all day yesterday. The issue should now be resolved. The SIM remained capped after the data allocation was exhausted, but this has been corrected.

Please reboot your device, and your connection should be restored.

Alright thanks, they fixed it for me around 9AM this morning, pages are loading and things seem up and running. Thanks.
The whatsapp team is pretty dedicated. I appreciate all their help.

Hoping this is my "fibre alternative" i've been looking for. Mtn was great when supersonic had its uncapped options since they didn't throttle unless tower was congested. Now that their uncapped is gone this looks like the next best thing.
