On a serious note, my connection has been dropping every single day this week in the evenings, always around 20h00 give or take..
I have had endless struggles with my line since I switched to afrihost in August.

The past 3 weekends every sunday I have not been able to connect.

I know that it's a Vuma village/ Aerial line and according to Afrihost support the lines have been the problem, but that doesn't change the fact I pay alot of money for a service I do not recieve 30-40% of the month.
If the Vuma li es are so bad then Afrihost should not advertise them as they are responsible and the ones taking my money.

Does anybody know of a good alternative as I cannot deal with it anymore ??

It's sad to say it but as great as @AfriNatic is (he really is helpful to so many) it doesn't help I'm without internet....

Hi

There are currently 2 major issues affecting services on Vuma Villages.

Afrihost and the Vuma team with vendors are working on a complex issue affecting Afrihost and Axxess clients on the Vuma Villages network. We had multiple meetings and we are actively engaging with the Vuma team to find a permanent solution to the ongoing intermittent connection being experienced.

A second major network incident occurred and has been logged under NWI-12486 and the Vuma Active Fibre team is currently also attending to this network incident.

This is still ongoing !

No connection for over a week apart from the occasional 0.4mbps for 10mins a day ?

Any update would be appreciated as each of my support tickets (12 total) just get closed a day later with no update or resolution ? how are we meant to just except this as paying customers ?

I understand your concern, we apologise for the inconvenience caused during this period. Changes have been made that should stabilise the network significantly, we are continuing to monitor for any disruptions.

Is it currently off?

I have had this exact response copy+paste from @Afrihost support everyday for over a week, It gets frustrating.

Yes it is off, since atleast 16h00 (i only got home then) infact i believe it has not come on since yesterday afternoon.

Really sorry for the ongoing issues experienced.

Vuma has made changes to the issue where VV traffic will drop completely for Afrihost clients. We haven't had an impact yet since this morning.

Vumatel and its backhaul provider DFA are battling an influx of fibre breaks and it's causing delays in attending to faults on the Vuma Villages network. The Network incidents are logged for a lot of VV areas including your area. Apologies for the delays and inconvenience this is causing.

My link is still down, not getting any updates from your service desk. How much longer is this going to take?

Can anyone recommend a good LTE router and contract package for the Brackenhurst area?

Hi

No connectivity in the Robertsham area since this morning via Vumatel Aerial.

Is this also linked to the above-mentioned issues?

Have logged the ticket via the Afrihost app.

Understand that this may take some time for the technicians to resolve, but still working from home so will be highly appreciated if connectivity can be resolved by the morning
Thanks

Hi, it is not linked to the issue we have been having with Vuma Villages. I have located your ticket and logged it with Vuma for feedback on the outage.

PoP Status Down
Configuration Present - Auto

@AfriNatic Hi there. Is there any reason why Afrihost/Octotel would be offline in Kraaifontein. Northern suburbs Cape town.. I have been down since 1pm this afternoon

Hi, is it still offline? Please confirm the the light indicators on the ONT.

Hi Afrihost. I have been down since Wednesday. Afrihost unable to give me any real update or eta on when I will be back up and running. I am in Brackenhurst area and I know it is part of this Vuma villages/DFA issue, but it is crazy. I have since cancelled with Afrihost and have signed up with Rain. Can't carry on like this. The flow of updated information has been completely missing from Afrihost. It is very unprofessional. the Whatsapp support people do not know what to say. They just tell me it is an open fault. Ja an open fault for more than 4 days. Shocking. Can't accept it.

Hi

Looks like the repair has been placed on hold. Please can you send me and @Afrigirl a dm with your email address so we can follow up with Vumatel on a way forward.
