What is up with Afrihosts support? I have been trying to get something sorted out since Friday morning, but I can't get hold of anybody on any of the channels.
After finally getting hold of somebody, I am getting ignored.
This is not the Afrihost support that I remember.

The old afrihost is long gone... this is the norm now

Response on the forum also used to be much faster now it also takes a couple of days, and that is if someone tags them. They used to be under staffed at some point, I wonder is they ever recovered from that...

lol, 2 of the afripeeps on this forum said they were going to get back to me, the one was going to get the other one to hurry up, none ever got back to me. 3 months later the issue resolved itself (a shaping issue affecting images and gifs).

They've abandoned the forum.

I noticed a similar thing a while back. It's unfortunate because they were/are some of the best reps on these forums and the best point of contact for AH support.

No one could possibly deal effectively with even 10% the problems any of our ISP's must receive on a daily basis...

They'd all need to increase and train their support dept to unsustainable levels..or failing that...start offering products honestly without all the usual hype that seldom materialises and that would mean much reduced revenue stream.

Go figure which one they would choose.

My word Afrihost is useless.

I can't setup my Fibre line because they want a 10-digit Object Number in the Clientzone and Vuma gives a 16-digit one.

Phones - closed
Whatsapp Chat - closed.
Live Chat - closed.

What a useless company.

They’re busy circling the drain... Gian Visser is long gone too

16 Digits?

VT-ABC-OB-1234 or VT-AB-OB-1234 or VT-ROCK-OB-1234 or VT-OB-ABC-1234

Those are the standard format for Vumatel Object codes. If you have anything but that you have the wrong code.

If you have this VT-123456789 you have an order number - if you have 12345-06022019 you have a vuma aerial Order number.

Whatsapp is available until 8PM - just refresh page as they may appear offline because the agents can only accept x amount of chats at a time. When the chats clear it shows them online and new chats can be routed.

I'm using the Object Number in the email from Vumatel which says:

Congratulations

You are now connected to VUMA Fibre!

Our installation contractor completed your installation and activated your line at:
Address: XXXXXXXX
Date: 2019-02-01
Object Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I've masked the digits and letters but the length is the same... no dashes either. Thats the Object Number i've been trying to use.

Send me a private message and I will check it for you.

That isn't meant to happen. You aren't supposed to be ignored at all.

I am sorry that I am only jumping onto this thread now, but I would really like to help you. Feel free to send me a PM with your account information and a brief background of the issue and I am sure we will be able to get down the bottom of this.

Something sounds a little odd here. It sounds like you are entering your order number and not your object number.

Here is a guide on how to get connected: https://help.afrihost.com/topic/fibre-broadband/how-to-activate-your-vumatel-fibre-connection

Please let me know if this helps.

See the screenshot of the Vumatel email, the Object Number is a 16-character code with digits and letters. No dashes.

I'll try the way mentioned in the help in any case and see what I get....
