Afrihost

Who is the Afrihost guy here on MyBB??
I can't login to my Client Zone and NOBODY has replied to my email since Saturday!
 
I wasn't sure if their prepaid topups also ran the special. The prepaid topup popup is different from the monthly topup popup and doesn't mention the free gigs except in the disclaimer below:

I just tried topping up my prepaid and only got 1 GB. No free GB. :(

yea, sorry, my post wasnt too clear on that one. I needed the bandwith now so that special came in handy :)
 
Yeah i must say that i have only ever had one minor issue with them, but it was really minor and nothing to worry about.

Otherwise no matter when i want help, they thereto sort it out... day or night 24/7. Who wants to work shifts answering our silly complaints? I'd tell you all to go sleep and get a life :P
 
Their refund strategy was also good, shows that they really do think about their customers, even the unhappy ones that bad mouth them

Agreed, they refunded me for my uncapped account, they do have good service. Pity they screwed up with Uncapped!
 
Personally I hate AH. I bought a gig of prepaid to test my line with and after about twenty days of daily sms and email notifications to send them my ID, which I did do three times, it still hadn't been activated. Its now been about another twenty days later and I have gotten little further in trying to get my money back. So basically they mugged me.
 
I'm using a 4b uncapped afrihost account and no real problems.

Ultimately, say i get slightly throttled at 60gb and my connection drops to 1mb at 90gb.
Paying for that uncapped is cheaper then paying for a 20gb capped account, and I am yet to see any difference save for P2P being useless during the day: not much of a problem though.

I don't know: I'd like it to be a true uncapped service and I'd hate to be upgraded to a 1mb (or is it 8mb) connection from Telkom but having to pay more from Afrihost's side, but for now I am content with the results.
 
I agree the service was good and they did lots for the adsl market in SA and I feel that we are more disappointed than anything else in the uncapped offering as we had expectations on the service we would receive.

It just seems that all the work that afrihost has done to capture a market share in the last few months has gone down the drain.
 
Afrihost has very good service, and an even better price. Ive only been with them for about 3 or 4 months but so far its been nothing but great service. Im on the capped account , and I've never had any bad experiences with my connectivity (other than the recent seacom outages). Today was the first time that I had a question about the service and contacted support. I've been so impressed with their swift response and very accommodating nature that they've just made a loyal evangelist out of me.

Pros for me:
* Cheap
* Instant activation (had to email an ID pic from my cellphone!)
* 2-for-1 Bundles
* Great service
* Excellent Support
* Did I mention Cheap??

So, If you're considering a cheap, capped account with great service and support then give them a try, they are an awesome bunch.

I have to agree with this thread. Always been a afrihost fan (except for a couple of weeks when they completely ruined their TAC on their uncapped accounts). However, they have fixed their TAC and their speeds are going great. Love their service. Keep it up afrihost.

I think I am going to leave cybersmart. The lag is horrible and their service has deteriorated drastically.
