After several downloads, unzipping and executing this file I get the following everytime:

AHTester.jpg

Perhaps because a I run Win7 Pro 32 bit ?

Also downloading from anywhere in the world I get full speed, 400+ KB/s but downloading from AfriHost it averages 85 KB/sec ?

Which Antivirus software are you using or do maybe run something like Peerblock?

I use Avira and it detects a virus and refuses to run, no matter how many times I clean it or even add it too the exception list. On my other pc's running other AV software it executes without hassle.

I tested it on Win7 Ultimate64, Server 2008 and on Linux.

Its file seems to fail a lot, try using a download manager. It must be Exactly 93.5MB (98,069,876 bytes) V1.0.2

Interesting.
I use Avast as well as ZoneAlarm.
I disable both, makes no difference.
My properties on the exe file says: (98,069,876 bytes)

Ok, downloaded with GetRight, wow what a difference in speed, 427 KB/sec
But problem still the same.

100MB?!?! Seems like an awful lot for a test app.

They should link an .md5 file.

Yes as a C++ developer, I have made some big apps in my time but 100MB.... wow now that takes some doing :)

As i said before, it was made by a freshman programmer, if a senior had to remake this app it shouldnt be bigger than 10MB

Wut? So a junior developer wrote 100MB worth of code for a network test app? Are there videos or high res photos in the app?

Wow 100MB!

Hope that includes like a free anti-virus scanner and some malware removers ect otherwise that size is terabad.

Maybe the test download file is hosted locally to represent better figures? :D

I dont know how an app can be 100MB if it pings and trace routes to 4 IP's, oh it also has a copy feature. :D

Well I'm at wits end with this app not working.
Thinking it's my Win7 with a problem, checked on Google, and there are many people with programs that just stop working on Win7.
Tried all the fixes but nothing works.
Re-installed a Win7 image I made on 12 October, still the same so I put latest image back.

Okay, just installed and ran it, I'm running Windows 8 x64 and it ran without any issue. I still don't understand how this app is any more than say 10MB. I would also like to warn Afrihost that this could potentially backfire on you guys if the results are better from another ISP.

And lol @ this:
nslookup thishouldfail.afrihost.com

** server can't find thisshouldfail.com: NXDOMAIN

Well today I replaced the hard drive with a spare and re-installed Windows7 from scratch from the dvd.
Activated it and tested the app.... no go!
Download and installed 107 critical updates and 2 optional updates.
Test the app.... no go!
Thus it cannot be my PC at fault.
Put back my old hard drive.

I hope Afrihost support didn't recommend that pointless effort? You can replicate the tests quite easily using Windows built in network tools.
