Good morning,

Yesterday our DSL account data capped, causing the account to fall under the heavily throttled "soft-capping benefits" provided by Afrihost+ Plus.

This soft-capping is throttled to 128kbits per second, which i don't think is the case, as speedtest show 20kbits/s. As a whole, it is a disappointing feature as it is barely usable. It appears that most websites don't even load with this throttling enabled.

I've been paying for Afrihost Plus since December 2014, and only have fallen into this 'soft-capping' realm twice, thus I now know that it never resets when the new month arrives.

It's May 1st, and this account is still being throttled by Afrihosts system. Speed tests show 0.02 / 0.02mbps and websites don't load at all.

As a heads up, for anyone with DSL capped and want to use Afrihost Plus, turn it off before the end of the month. Rather have no data, than for your account to sit in limbo in the next month.

For Afrihost: I suggest that you remove soft-capping benefits from Afrihost Plus as it doesn't work.

Have you tried rebooting your router? Because refreshing your PPPoE session should update the radius restrictions.

Hey there,

Yes, I had reset the router, however the soft-capping restriction was still in place.

Update:
I have just received an email back from Themba (within 15 minutes) at [email protected] who has reset the account on their side.

All is now working. :) So thankful that their are people there on a public holiday. Their phones are off, but responding on email.
I was worried there was not going to be any internet for me today!
