AfriW00t! (was AfriWhoops)

One more question - I'm getting a lot of people asking me this... Will MTN Prepaid customers be able to change their APN and use their Afrihost bandwidth? Or is it exclusively for MTN Contract customers?

THIS part only.

Topup and prepaid won't work.

Damn... Can't imagine why not, but I'll take your word for it!

Now for the million-dollar question... I'm an MTN Contract customer through Nashua Mobile. For the love of god, please tell me that I can still use the APN!

Couldn't get my order completed after trying for hours. Thankfully they were able to process the order over the phone.

I'll confirm for you quickly :)

It should work fine. I had MTN through Nashua (through work) and you can change the APN as you see fit. I was able to use the FNB 3G data I got for free without issue after they (FNB) approved it on their system.

Thanks, that puts my mind at ease a little.

It's a maybe yes/ maybe no. It'll depend on what Nashua mobile allow under your profile.
We know that it'll definitely work with MTN direct clients.

Eeep! Fingers crossed then. Thanks for that all the same.

The SIM will arrive with the MiFi device between the 3rd/ 4th September - the data will be usable from then on, along with the use of the APN :) The APN won't work now.

Has something changed since this afternoon? I just got an Email from Afrihost saying, "Your Mobile Data Account is Ready!"

I'm still confused about how Afrihost will know that when I change to the "afrihost" APN on my phone, it should use *MY* data. I don't remember ever telling Afrihost what my MTN Contract cellnumber is.

It's not quite there yet, I assume you're seeing this under your Client Zone?
The APN will only be available for use shortly after we do our commercial launch on the 3rd September.

Yes, and sorry for also replying in the other thread re. the same issue; wasn't sure you were still following this one.

Yeah, Clientzone is saying its all good to go; if it wasn't for you telling me to wait until September, I would have no idea that its not yet working. I just received the Email saying its good to go, and Clientzone says its all active.

Anyway, happy to wait; just dying to try it out is all. ;)

Glad it's all sorted out now! It was a pretty crazy day around here, some of our staff have lost their voices (and use of most of their limbs) but we're uber-chuffed that the promo ultimately went down very well :)
