Looking at my friends and family that have gotten married, there are very few of the ladies that have not let themselves go. They used to be good looking, but since the day, things have slid.

And I am not only talking about wieght gain, it seems to me that they, (the woman) realised that Daddy would/should no longer support them after matric, and so they set out to find a hubby to support them in the life style they thought they should have.

Looking at the men in this situtation, I can not find one that went "hunting" for a wife to cook, clean and sleep with him. The men I think were blinded by the woman into marriage, and I wonder how many of them would take a do-over and not marry if they had a chance to.

More than you think, I think, because they did not think. :D

And THAT is why you marry for love, not looks. My girlfriend's not bad looking, but that's hardly a priority to me - something I learned a few years ago already. The money thing though...urgh. I know the type. It's funny how you suddenly become attractive to women when it comes out you're not constantly broke and can afford the odd treat.

If you have any sense, and to avoid disappointment later, you should date girls and marry women.

...and I long ago gave up counting the number of stunning women of all ages who, after X years of marriage find themselves married to a fat, ugly, pot-bellied, lazy, unhealthy, unloving mummy's boy who can't grow up and appreciate what a beautiful woman he has as a partner.

Tell her to wash her face before the first date.
Before getting married tell her you'll leave her if she lets go. But it goes for you aswell. if you get fat she can get fat. if you get sloppy she can get sloppy. You know what happens as well i get home with short hair, it was down to my ass. He only notices 4 days later when his best frient tells me it looks nice. Then why should i bother with the whole Poppie thing if you do not even notice the hair being gone?

The difference is that he has not let himself go. He hasn't stopped taking care of himself as he wasn't taking care of himself to start off with! I'm fed up with woman who think a guy will change and 'grow up', he (probably) never will. And I'm fed up with men who think a woman will never change, never grow up, she (most likely) always will! :D

So in short you are just fed up. You must be married :p

It is true, but to be fair men change too, even before marriage...

I can't even remember when I last bought flowers, like I used to...
People change....

Why would you buy flowers, is it for a salad or something?

One thing that men just don't get is flowers. However the thing that we forget is that women do get this primeval urge for flowers and enjoy getting an appropriate bunch. If it means making her happy without understanding why, then I am all for it...
