Aids battle 'same as apartheid'

I thought the SANDF was where all the aids sufferers were sent.

Well, it's not a bad idea to get one group to become AIDS free, and then use them as a shining example.
One of the problems is that exact figures are unknown, and getting peeps to get themselves tested is a nightmare.

This approach can then be wielded in a "get yourself tested" campaign after success has been proven.

I stay away from governmint needles, i'm pretty damn scared that governmint uses "tests" to spread the infection. TRUST she not beeg.

The battle against HIV and Aids should be fought in the same way as those against colonialism and apartheid, Deputy President Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka said on Monday.

Yes let's throw some stones, burn down some schools and hospitals, necklace a few people who disagree with us and generally create an ungovernable state.

What a dumbass... I wish ANC politions would get over themselves and realise THE STRUGGLE IS OVER. We need up to date and future solutions to our problems not the usual bring-up-the-past cr@p which only serves to stir up emotions and detract from what really has to be done.

FFS they are a bunch of d00ses

How do you get them AIDS free tho?
Do you simply say to the ones that have AIDS, *sod off you AIDS sufferers, you*?
And then do you have to screen everyone new that gets recruited? Doesnt sound that great to me.

And its will not be cruel or illegal as you aimed for the virus, the rest was unfortunate collateral damage! :D

My interpretation of Phumzile's statement is that she is saying the battle against HIV is as serious as the battle against colonialism and apartheid. I assume she
is possibly trying to persuade the audience at the time of her speech to take HIV as seriously through using by using such example. Maybe it works at their level, maybe it doesn't.

My interpretation is that they have absolutely f-all clue or plan and so use the usual k@k to get the dumb@sses fired up enough to forget about what the real issues are... and of course it works ... at their level

Kind of ironic that the single biggest enemy to the SADF and the state is not a rival faction, neighbouring state or disgruntled madman with WMD's, but AIDS!
Yet we spend billions of rands on weapons whilst offering the public advice on beetroot, garlic and the African potato as a frontline defence against the most ferocious killer of all!

SANDF currently test for HIV when doing promotions etc, so they just kinda discourage the positive ones from sticking around.
