Hey guys

Just wanna hear from most AION players here whats your opinion about the game? and Ex wow players going for AION?

soooo 1 2 3 start :D

Bought Aion, played for a few weeks. Its gathering dust, went back to Wow.

Maybe I'll try again in 6 months time when they sorted some things. Funny how u can cast all those neat spells, but u can't swim and die in water...

I am so bored of Wow that Aion seems so much better at the moment its something diffrent and u cant look at it the same way you look at wow its 2 diffrent games so I am enjoying it thorougly. Have been playing Wow from Vanilla days and there is only so much u can do on wow before it loses its appeal.

The best feedback would be to post this under the correct forum :)

Don't think I would get into another MMO soon. Barely play WoW due to a massive burnout / boredom with TOTC / etc. Hopefully the joy will return with IC

Bought it 3 weeks ago, loving it so far, think WAR + GW + WoW

Theres a bigger grind than WoW , more advanced crafting system and an excellent quest tracking system...I've yet to PVP (starts at 25), I'll be trying that out in a few levels time

The only downside at the moment... goldseller spam, but NCSoft are busy getting rid of them

Tried it.

1st hour :"Wow this is so cool, pretty ava, pretty enviro..."
2nd hour:"Wow, this is a lot like...WoW..."
3rd hour:"Wow, talk about grind..."
4th hour:"Wow, lag+queues ftl"
5th hour:"Wow. Nothing in this game makes sense, there's no lore I care about, it's goofy as FSCK and kinda..well. stupid. /boots up WoW."

Seriously, i don't get the hype. In the beginning I was won over but the superficiality of this paper-thin shallow fluff mmo soon shone through. There just aint no meat and potatoes. This is WoW for people who just want to be different & difficult. I don't think it'll last too long in the Western market.

face it, Skurm, you love gnomes :D

Aion isn't anywhere close to wow quality but its something different for people who are really bored of wow like myself. The gold seller spam isn't that bad, I just have to block about 5 people every time I start playing and the issue is gone. What gets me is how clunky the game feels, especially when spell casting.

It's... possible. I'd rather play reroll gnome rogue than try and grind my way through this cesspool of Kill Ten Million Rats (In High Def Woo(TM)!!1)
There's no pve/raid endgame to speak of , invisible walls you fly into that shred the suspension of disbelief factor, and I can't help but feel something's terribly wrong with this game's 'feel', though what it is I can't exactly put my finger on it.
TBQH, it's probably great for anyone experiencing total WoW burnout, but I really doubt it'll hold any long term appeal. Beauty is skin deep.

I have tried all the alternative to Wow, except AION. Each time, I get bored after a few hours. Which is odd, because even playing WoW for 3 years, I can still roll a new character and spend days on it before going back to my main.

Went to the Game store in London, looked at the box. Considered it, but then left it. It took ages to find a guild that suited me in WoW. Really couldnt be bothered to start all over again. Looking forward to the Cataclysm expansion.

How is the grind?

and

Is there any end game?

I never played WOW, but the end game always interested me, I just did not want to start playing catch up, so i tried WAR and ............ boring, and no end game.

I've played GW for the past 4 years and that was great, i hate grinding, and everyone is saying Aion is a huge grindfest.

For now I will stick to Champions Online, great fun and no grinding....sweet:D

Busy playing it at the mo when I'm not Raiding.

I'm enjoying it so far. Got a 20 Glad and a 10 Spiritmaster.

The crafting system is really great and I love how the gathering works.

Having an Account Bank is frikkin win.

For me the biggest Pro's are:
Excellent Graphics (some of the models are superb)
Good Crafting System
Good instancing System
Good Combat/Spell System

The few Con's I've picked up:
Pet System is a lot more Hand on then wow but feels a bit more difficult to manage
Kinah is king. You have to make Kinah to do anything
Occaisonal Lag. For some reason the Unshaped account I use for WoW does not route well to Aion servers so I've switched to using a different account while I play.

So far the game doesn't really seem like a Grindfest to me. I suppose you can grind your levels but I've been doing all my quests.
The only time I had an issue was at 19 when the only quests available to me were Group ones and I wasn't always able to get a Group.
When that happens I spend time on my gathering coz u still get XP for that so it's never time badly spent.

Didnt get too far but i already started noticing myself running out of quests early on. Word on the street is you will hit points occasionally where grinding mobs for hours is the only way to progress. As for end game, it's supposed to be 'PVPVE', which sounds a lot like WAR's 'RVR'. Which is either a good thing, or a bad thing, depending on your individual tastes.

i have no idea what this game is about or how it works. anyone care to brief me quick?

Haven't tried it, but was seriously considering giving it a go given the current low interest in WOW. Having to fill TOC 10 man spots with pugs atm as interest is so low. But after reading the comments here I think I might save the cash.
