Good morning,

I wanted to check whether the codes you provided will give full functionality with Neocool air-conditioners. I purchased the Techbyte 6000-1 universal aircon remote from Takealot this morning, and it should arrive this afternoon. I’m hoping it will work with my 12,000 BTU Neocool unit.

Does anyone have experience setting up these remotes, or any tips on programming them with a Neocool unit?

This is the issue when buying local "rebranded" aircons, universal remotes might struggle.

If it was a well known brand you can easily get a uni remote that supports it or a phone that has an IR blaster and you can load an app that controls AC/TV or whatever.

I mean they are still all made in the same place with the same modules it won’t be that hard to find the right codes.

I am in the market for a wall mount split 12000btu aircon for a small room. Makro etc has some good deals, but these days you don't know what is good or not anymore....
ANY advice is welcome, thanks.

LG is great for app-based control. I hardly ever use the remotes for my split units, it's way easier to just open the LG ThinQ app on my phone, with the added advantage of being able to control my aircons from anywhere in the world. Also LG makes it super easy to add your aircons to Home Assistant for even fancier automation.
