got a 12000btu inverter in December, it changed my life, it uses 400watts of power at 26c its and keeps my room cool, it uses about 600watts at 24c, its madness, i get winter in the middle of summer, i live it Durban and it gets crazy hot

Inverter aircons are magic, my place actually stays relatively cool during summer except when we get a streak of hot days. I'm actually more looking forward to having really efficient heating in the winter. My flat gets frikin cold.

Yo, did you get a Daikin or another brand ac? I’m currently on the market for a few but I’m unsure whether to go with Daikin or Midea (saw some earlier posts about the midea breezeless one being great and quite energy efficient)

Hey, I’m interested in getting 3x 9000’s Daikins. I’m assuming you bought the sensira ones, yeah?
How have they been performing? Power usage? Noise levels? Does it keep the rooms cool enough?

I have the Midea breezeless, no issues and really engery efficient

Yes, the Sensira. Haven't used them yet though, but I don't expect to have any issues and efficient rating is very high.

I realised that after seeing the price differences between the two, damn. Only considering the midea because of the previous posts mentioning how effective they were. The Daikin sensiras look really good but just need some feedback compared to the midea before I pull the trigger.

I'm in the same boat... Nearly went for the Midea Xtreme based on previous posts on good Home Assistant integration and value for money... I asked Copilot to compare midea with Daikin and Samsung and I now need more $s... Also need $s for installation (plus new separate plug point cost)Screenshot_20260222_102341_Copilot.jpg

So overall it looks like Daikin is the better option. More costly but also more realiable in the long term. Midea is more affordable and good value for money but longevity wise- questionable...
 
Performance-wise all the inverter air-cons are going to be almost identical.

I went with the Daikin's for 2 reasons: They're well known for reliability, and Home Assistant compatibility. Noise levels were also a factor, but less so as most except for the most cheapy cheapy brands are reasoably quiet these days.

i got a Unitherm Midwall Airconditioner 12000BTU Inverter, which is a rebranded Alaska , i got a 15% discount in December from leroy merlin, cost me R5099, was a great deal i think.
 
GMC have a full 2 year warranty. Their customer feedback is excellent. That's why I chose them.....plus I've got WIFI control on this little Aircon of mine. Very handy and I don't need to use the remote.

So far I ❤️ this little thing.

When they have specials they are for sure the cheapest. But also for those that don't have a reliable local contact they are definitely the most transparent and most reputable of the big national players. They just a really safe bet.
