Aircon recommendations

No... appliances running inverter technology have a much lower startup surge if at all. 1.5x running load normally. But some newer ones does not go above running amps on startup.
I run my not inverter 18 000 btu aircon of a plug for the past 15 years with no problem. Actually legislation only require that for 24 000 btu and up.
on the samsung 24000 invertor it has a constant wattage on cool of 2010 watts which is very good 8 to 9 amps .but will run lower

It can but I prefer it on a dedicated breaker because of the startup amp spike. The last thing I need is to fry my TV...
if you are going on a dedicated circuit and are worried about dips tell your sparky you want...4mm wire ,you want the 5kva 20 amp breaker .and you want an sabs approved isolator at the machine .youre paying for it not him .AC Direct has lots of specials with like vouchers as well

My 2c worth for the 12000 BTU. Give Hirsch a
Call. In Jhb they gave me the best deal installed for an AR4500, even better than acdirect.

Samsung Inverter

Had mine for about 12 years now. No problems. Make sure their installation bracket is galvanized.

Soo I installed a circuit breaker and installed an outside plug. All 3x aircons run from the same plug. Makes it much easier to deal with.

7999 installed with copper pipes but this was November last year.

were the cheapest when we installed about 2 years back, service was also on point.

Do aircons need servicing? I know you can clean the filter part, but I'm talking about the outside unit mostly.

I had mine properly serviced last year and it was an eye opener. We clean the filters ourselves regularly, but they basically dismantled the whole inside unit and it cleaned it with compressed air. My lord, the dirt that came out was unbelievable. Think they also check the gas levels and refill if necessary.

Who did your service as I had mine serviced in June last year and they did nothing like you described which makes me think maybe I was scammed:(

The company who installed them originally, DEA Technologies based in Brackenfell. If memory serves they charged around R 1000 for the 2. They sent me a reminder this year for the yearly service, but I didn't get them out as we don't use the aircons that often.

Hi all, looking for a 9000 btu for our room(3m X 3.5m).

Currently leaning towards inverter. Any brands or specials you can recommend?
