Aircon recommendations

Heat has been crazy.. also thinking it's time..
Looking to spoil myself with the AR8500 coz the windfree marketing got to me and it seems HA integration could be quite seamless with the WiFi and SmartThings.
Anyone have other integrations?
 
Had a samsung 9000btu in my previous house moved to a new home and insatlled a 12000 btu Alliance unit. Massive difference in performance between the 9 and 12k units very happy so far. Stick to inverter and a brand like samsung, alliance, daiken etc
 
For those looking, acdirect.co.za seems to have good deals.

I have an 18k BTU one in my cart, juuuust waiting to see if something better pops up

Ended up biting the bullet and purchased an 18k BTU Midea unit from ACDirect.

Here's hoping they can install before mid-December

Well this ended up aging like milk

ACDirect is blaming the Transnet issue, saying they cannot get hold of their stock and earliest estimations are that they will have it by Jan ‘24 only.

Their Facebook page is littered with similar stories

Yup, I went to Hirsch Fourways 2 weeks ago and they said they have no inverter air-cons in stock and also said that all their stock is waiting at Durban harbour and waiting to be loaded off the ships. And they also told me some other story that the crane at the habour is faulty and requires maintenance / repairs and the equipment that is needed to fix the crane is on one of the containers that is on one of the ships at sea. :laugh: So it seems like a bit of an f'ed up situation. So Hirsch told me to follow up with them in January / February.

Windfree? If that's what I think it is then it does away with one of an aircons best features - farking up mosquitos trying to locate you to have some dinner.

they will find something else to blame it on. And I thought would have a better first half of the year with load shedding due to the fact that cANCer would be looking for votes

Looking all around. Really not finding any local Aircon installers in my area that has any stock.
