Airfare depending on passenger weight?

Just think of the advantages - an airline cornering the smaller build market could make the seats even smaller and cram even more seats in the same size plane.
 
I'm in two minds. I'm 6'2 and 100kg, so should I pay more??

Its bad enough trying to fit myself into cattle class as it is, but to pay more.

However, I have had the "pleasure" of sitting next to someone whose girth was not accommodated by the width of the seat, hence overflowing onto me.

As I sit with my shoulders off centre anyway, this was not a comfortable arrangement.

Perhaps instead of weight, they could disguise this by measuring girth?

Therefore they could have some seats that are slightly wider, but cost a bit more??

I'd be pissed if they said to me, "You weigh 15kg over average, cough another x%"
 
There is a very big downside to pay per kg... imagine all the kids and babies on the flight :eek:
