“Not many idevices in circulation in SA”

Maybe not nearly as much as the USA or other parts of the world, but still quite a lot…I will remember this sentence when the new iPhone comes out and everybody is trying to source one while discovering the first batch has been sold out in a flash

I have a driver who likes taking the scenic route when he fetches stock. And who goes shopping when he should be working!

So did you catch him out?

I don’t have a husband.. I have a driver who likes taking the scenic route when he fetches stock. And who goes shopping when he should be working!
I have a friend that also had an employee who as part of his jobs specification was to do collections or drop-off of items. He had suspicions that this person also did this. I suggested to him to tell him to use his Garmin navigator. Before he was sent out to do deliveries or pick-ups, he pre-programmed the location into the device. The function to store the track driven was also enabled. When the person came back, he simply downloaded the track onto his computer. There he could see the entire route drive, as well where and when he exceed the speed limit.

He gave him a warning not to abuse the task of asked to collect or deliver, but did not inform him of the information collected from the Garmin. The next time he once again did the same, and he again could see that he did follow some "creative" routes and again speeded excessively. He was then given a final written warning but this person did not heed to the warning and after strike three, he was out.

well, it is an alternative solution to buying another phone and stashing it in the car,no?
But, unless the Samsung SmartTag works with Apple, they would still have to buy another phone so they could use the tag?

My wife took my car keys this morning and this popped up on her phone.

We can both see each other's location via find my phone anyway but it's reassuring that apple will warn you that there is a potential issue.

Pop up appeared because your wife's registered on your account right?

Had somebody stolen your keys they wouldn't know the AirTag could be tracked. Is that correct?

That warning is supposed to pop up whenever there is an unaccompanied airtag that's not associated with your account. It's designed to prevent people from using them to track others. If someone steals your keys and has an iphone (or the app installed on an android phone) they'll be alerted.

FWIW AirTag locations can only be tracked by the owner. Personally I think that diminishes their usefulness but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
