Alienware range and pricing in SA revealed

Where did that R11500 pricing come from? I have pricing from pinnacle for just over R20000 for the base (read: low-end) system:

Processor : Intel i7 720QM(1.60Ghz, 6MB) Mobile CPU
Display : 15.6in Wide HD+ (1600 x 900) WLED
Memory : 4096MB (2x2048) 1067MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
Hard Drive : 500GB Serial ATA (7200RPM)
Optical Drive : Slot Load Blu-Ray RW (Blu-Ray, DVD and CD read & WRITE) Optical
Battery : Primary 9-cell 85W/HR LI-ION
Graphics : 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce GT240M
Base Warranty - 1 Year Hardware Support, Next Business Day

Is there any further news on this? I haven't seen any of the resellers selling the range yet, and it seems like the prices are all wrong?

The pricing very reasonable actually. The M15x at R11 500 actually retails for $1 499 overseas and the Aurora desktop at R9 500 retails for $1 299, so it's even less than the general 'multiply by 10' rule. Well done Pinnacle Micro :)

Yeah but wait until you see the actual store prices, not article prices.

Here's hoping...

It comes from a direct ROE conversion from the US pricing. These articles love doing this, to create a bunch of interest at that price point, but we all know that hardware pricing doesn't roll like that in this country.

Hehe yeah that's why I bumped the thread. Pinnacle Micro doesn't even have the products and pricing on their site yet. They have the M17x at some ridiculous price (which is the same as it was prior to the announcement), but nothing else.

I'd basically like to know why nobody's selling it yet so that we can get a few retail prices to compare, seeing that the article was published two weeks ago.
