All Oculus Rift headsets have stopped working

I half read a book i think awake online or something where the occulus like thing's AI is busy becoming self aware. Beware.
 
This is not good for Oculus really... especially if its related to an expired Cert or something simple like that.

The phoning home part (to the point that they're bricked if they can't phone home) is also a HUGE worry.
