I'd be inclined to run 24hrs memtest on it & see what happens. If it clears that then its fine by me regardless of packaging. If it doesn't then queue shtstorm.

My previous PC ran with opened RAM (pcint) just fine for 5 years and counting .

Wootware was unopened last time.
