All things Shelly

Thanks, I'd prefer to buy locally though, ICASA approved, just in case there is an insurance issue.
The Shelly 1 and 1PM devices are not available in ZA anymore. Shelly Plus 1PM is available online at a few places. Shelly Plus 1 is also available (Robofactory) but more scarce than the 1PM model based on my searching.

Edit: I now see there's no stock at Robofactory.

Is it just me or has the pricing skyrocketed for shelly?
I don't recall it being this high for a single device?

Shelly RGBW 2
R842

RGBW 2 has always been expensive - Cheapest I have ever seen it was R758

I just connected up a Shelly 2PM earlier today. It's working fine but the power measurement is showing a value 4 times of what it actually is. This is happening on both channels.

Anyone have any ideas what could cause this? None of my Shelly 1PMs or Dimmers have this issue.

Latest firmware installed?

I haven't looked at their site for a while, but I see that Shelly has some really cool stuff

These little Mini switches are great for simply lighting

Hmm, I just Google'd Shelly Plus 2pm and got this page (https://templates.blakadder.com/shelly_plus_2PM.html) which has this in bold:

WARNING!!! Devices with firmaware v1.10+ cannot be flashed OTA anymore
Yes it says the same thing on https://templates.blakadder.com/shelly_plus_1PM.html

All that mean is, to not do the following:
* Download tasmota32 direct and try to flash that on your device

Instead what you should do, is
* go to https://github.com/phiten/mgos32-to-tasmota32/releases
* select the correct temporary firmware for your device and download that
* follow the steps on https://github.com/phiten/mgos32-to-tasmota32

That is what I did regardless of the v1.10 warning which I also saw.

Consumption correction under settings should be 1. Maybe yours is more? Also, at what voltage are you operating it?

Shelly Plus devices don't have that setting.

I'm thinking it might be either interference from being too close to other live conductors (I'll test this sometime), or it's a faulty unit.

Shelly is working on a Matter hub, which is actually pretty cool and it enables pretty much all the existing Shelly devices to be Matter enabled

In the meantime you can use that.
You will still need a hub though - it just doesn't have to be a Shelly one.

I tested my theory over the weekend, doesn't appear to be interference. I've got a ticket open with Shelly support now.

I have a few SONOFF Basic R2 switches for lights in the house, but thinking of moving over to Shelly Plus 1 or the Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 but will they work behind a light switch if I add the Shelly Bypass (No neutrals in my light switches)

I apologise in advance for the Lehman terms about to be used, but light switch terminology is not my strong point.

I currently have a two level (gang I assume) light switch connect to lights on my patio, and am using an an old standard dimmer module. The swithc currently works as follows, one switch turns the main light one, the other switch (which i think is a momentary switch) turns on the drop down lights with a quick press, and then dims by holding the button in - long hold and lights dim, stop, long hold again the lights brighten. Quick press for off.

The dimmer has now stopped working and I am considering replacing it with a smart dimmer - looking at the Shelly Dimmer 2 but open to any suggestions if there is a better alternative (I don't have a neutral wire).

My question is, can i use the dimmer to keep the buttons working as above? If so, how would I connect it?
Or would I just connect both lights (main light plus dropdowns) to the output (can i do this?) and connect Shelly to the momentary switch? I do understand that if i did it this way then both sets of lights would dim at the same time which i am fine with, just need to check with the wife :)

I guess another option would be to get two Shellys, and a light switch with two momentary switches and connect each set of lights individually?
