All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Mmmmm

Murphy came to visit....

This morning my system went from 34% to 18% in an instant and immediately switched to grid as my SOC lower limit was set to 22%. Load at the time was 900w.

I checked the battery voltage graph and there was no sudden drop there so it did not match the SOC drop.

I went to the garage and checked the SOC lights under the batteries. 2 of my AM-2's still had 2 SOC lights on, but the 3rd had no lights on. The one with no lights is in the middle on the wall and therefore in the middle of the battery cabling (don't have a busbar). I highly doubt this is a balancing issue as I checked these lights a week ago when the system showed 50% SOC and all three batteries had the same number of SOC lights on.

I have a suspicion I may have a sick Hubble in the middle of my wall. It is 1 of the original 2 installed in Feb last year, so I will call the installer on Monday and show him my pics and the SOC+Voltage graphs and ask him what's up. For now I have set the SOC limit to 35% to avoid another sudden drop and I'll do another lights check tomorrow morning.

Someone (the owner) posted this on the "Sunsynk South Africa Users Group" Whatsapp Group:

View attachment 1671267

It was deleted after a few minutes, for apparently flouting the groups rules. But I forwarded it to a few buddies before it was deleted, hence the above screenshot.

Seems like this could be useful in future to keep track of Sunsynk Connect health / downtime issues.

Apologies if this has already been posted. Here is the direct clickable link which you can bookmark / pin in your web-browser:

I want to know what happens when you urgently need a firmware update and it’s down.

What are you guys running your batteries down to overnight? I've set mine to draw from grid at 30%.
different setting based on time the lowest ill allow it to go is 25% but that's between 0600 and 0900 -
between 2100-and 0200 50% and between 0200 -0600- 35%
between the last 2 I probably end up using like around 1kw or so from the grid.
I then average 2kw a day from grid summer - winter I only had the system 1 month of winter and was still playing with settings so will need to see but I think it will be the same or better oddly enough (house needs more cooling then heating)

I also set grid shaving to 2300w so that's the max I can ever us from the grid so that is a factor on battery being charged and discharged if it goes over the set percentage.

How are folks monitoring their batteries ? Is there a specific app for battery monitoring or just the solar apps. We have deye batteries.

Does anyone know how to change the Data Interval settings on the SunSynk app?

Is SunSynk only allowed to change it? Or are installers only allowed to change it?

According to a friend, under Gateway, then select the 3 dots on the gateway and select Settings, and the Data Interval settings should be under there. However on my web interface, I only have options to Unbind.

I asked my installer, and he said he doesn't have that option either?

I believe you need to request manager permissions from your installer, then contact Sunsynk and get advanced user permissions from Sunynk via a form on their website.

If you have Solar Assistant you can get battery cables and deeper battery analytics from this. It's an added cost though. If you have inverter comms then what the battery exposes to the inverter is all you can get from the apps, e.g. my dryness batteries do not expose number of cycles to Solar assistant or to Solarman I'm not too stressed about it though

SunSynk website and phone app down.

Is this the form you're referring to? Or is there another form that SunSynk would e-mail the installer?

My Goodwe es 5048 was replaced with a Deye 8Kw, was basically a new install as the location moved.
PV generation is also better now as the Goodwe's MPPT was 11A.
Is it possible that the PV generation can be more than the panel wattage? (6 X 545W per string)
