I don't think you are going to need to make that many adjustments on the inverter once you have it setup.
You might have 2 settings for workmodes: sunny vs not sunny. But generally once you have your settings down then it's rare you will adjust.
And you more than likely to have internet available if you have fibre
 
I'm still struggling with my solar settings. I want to export to the grid, but if I set it up like that it doesn't pick it up as export but as part of load. Its not picking up anything from load if I try to export. In fact, on the inverter interface it picks up the export power as household load. Its also doing weird things at night with the battery, but I suspect that has to do with the grid power not showing. The installer already had to come move the CT coil as it was not properly installed.

So basically, it's exporting but picks it up as household load. I also have non essentials, those don't seem to show at all on the inverter.

Can anyone help?

Do you know where the CT coil is currently installed and the direction of the arrow?

You have "Zero Export" selected so it's not going to export any power to the grid.

The UPS output is all your essential loads (should be most of your house). The output between the inverter and the grid in the image are your non-essential loads.

Tick Selling first, then it will sell to the grid first.

They came and moved it. Initially they had it by the inverter, and after I caught them out (with the help from someone in the forum) they came and moved it to the DB board. How do I check if the direction is correct?

If I tick selling first, it doesn't actually charge the battery with solar, in fact it'll wait until dark and then charge the battery with grid. It prioritises exporting. I want it to export the excess only (after the battery is full and loads are serviced)

As I said, if I untick zero export, it simply just exports all pv power and doesn't charge the battery at all. Also, on the inverter screen, it shows it is serving loads (by the home icon) but that is actually exporting power to the grid.

Have you checked your battery percentages in the SYSTEM MODE tab? If the percentages are set to nunbers lower than your batteries ever drop to, then the system will export all PV.

The right place for the CT coil is after the main switch with the arrow pointing to the inverter side. (Provided the ct wire colours are correct on the inverter terminals)
Also note the terminal numbers are different for the 8kw and 5 kW so make sure those are correct.

So I'm wondering if they used the right terminals, as they initially installed a 5kw and later came to replace it with an 8 kw. I'll ask my husband if he can check when he's home, but neither of us know much aboyt solar systems and it seems like our chosen installer was a bad choice

Maybe start a new thread an post pics of the DB side, inverter side, the config screens and what your expectations are for essentials, non essentials, export etc. Otherwise we might help you on specific things you are asking but its not getting you to the correct overall setup.
