All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

Jip, saw the same, but the CNC one is only 4 pins. Do you plan to replace the male side with the 4 pin?
Did you buy a ATS unit and what did you get. I'm not technical at all and the stuff out there ranges from R300 to R3000. I have no idea what to look for or buy that will work with the generator and the Sunsync inverters.
EDIT: Sorry I didnt read the entire thread and just your 1 message. But I still think this might help with your understanding. You wont need an ATS because you are wiring it from your Synsynk generator output to the connectors like in the photos shown in the other posts.

Generally an ATS needs to be sized according to the max current you would have going through it. But thats usually when you dont have an inverter and you are switching between Eskom and generator.

If you are wanting the inverter to drive your generator starting and stopping then you dont need an ATS. Your generator would need to accept inputs to start and stop.

It has a 2 wire connection to be turned on via an inverter.
And then it also has ATS connector if you didnt have an inverter.

Exactly what @Fcon_Vpro has explained, no need to buy anything else.
That's why I'm so pleased.

Join two wires and it starts, disconnect them and it stops.

How you join the two wires is up to you, either with a switch, or the inverters built in contacts, or just wind them together if that's your thing...

How you use the 220v output is between you and your electrician, but the Sunsynk/Deye does have a generator input but some people prefer to use it as a smart output.
Depends on your situation.

( I think that also answers your question about the 4 way connector, as you only need to use two points.)
 
Anyone's Sunsynk app not showing the correct solar total generated for yesterday and today?
Shows 0kw generated but is able to show what the panels are producing during the 10 minutes snapshots.
Call center number just defaults to a mailbox that is full.

I saw it doing this yesterday but it seems to be fine today, the 10 minute interval is ridiculous though.

Not too familiar with this and if it can be done but it was just a showerthought that I had.

Solarman dongles used to come with the sunsynk until sunsynk decided to create their own dongle.

I have Solarman that came with my sunsynk 8kw but added SolarAssist just over a year ago. I still check Solarman a few times but it deletes daily data after 12 months. On SolarAssist all data is kept and stored locally indefinitely.

Ahh, I see. So vendor lock-in, basically.

I don't use the Solarman dashboard myself, mostly use my own integrations in HA for logging/reporting purposes anyway. I briefly had a look at Solar-Assistant - maybe one day when cashflow is a bit better :)

I have a deye and don't use the Solarmon app, just integrated to HA where I access remotely.

Sunsynk used to come with solarman before they made their own dongle.

I went the Home Assistant route so I have both the sunsynk app and the HA dashboard to keep track of things.
 
I use the Deye (cloud?) app, I prefer it over Solarman.

Is the Sunsynk dongle so locked in?
With the Deye you can log into both as you wish, same information just a different look basically.

Others have explained what has happened to SunSynk with the launch of their own WiFi dongle and web interface/phone app. An as you know, I plan on leaving ours in place but getting Solar Assistant up and running on an RPi 3 via the RS485 port. SunSynk can have their data, my installer can 'monitor' our installation, both can assist with trouble shooting like a few weeks back but I can have a more reliable monitoring and recording system in Solar Assistant.
 
Does anyone recommend making changes to the grid voltage and frequency highs and lows?

Currently mine is on 265v high and 185v low, 51.5Hz high and 48Hz low, which I believe are the default values.

Are these not far out of line with what is expected to be a safe range? Voltage I understand shouldn't move more than 10% up or down, any risk leaving on the default or do people generally change this?

Electrician is finally going to do the connection between the Inverters and generator on Sunday. A quick question - I see you have 2 Deye inverters connected to your generator, I plan to connect my 2 Sunsync ones, did you connect to the Aux(gen) port or to the Grid port? And if to the grid port, did you use a CT coil to do so?

Just updated but didn't check the individual battery SOC before the update.

I have 6 batteries and after update 3 show at 100% which does not seem right as they are always a few percentage points off each other. Screenshot_20250313_182353_Chrome.jpg

I initially had the generator connected to the "Gen" port but the inverters were not sharing it properly.
I have since connected it to the "Grid" port and now they are sharing it nicely but not doing the "peak shaving" properly, parallel systems are strange animals.

I read on Powerforum a few nights ago that perhaps the fixed N/E bond on the generator is the cause but have not yet tested it without it.
I don't have the CT coil installed, just zero export ticked.

I see they added support for parallel systems and using the generator on the aux port.
A few years back it didnt work and you had to use your grid port.

It has been suggested by one of the Solar Assistant team that I may need one but I am not entirely sure why or if I do.

Thanks. How old is your i nverter and what firmware is it on? I thought that I would set it up like you have but Solar Assistant support has said this...

Please note that you may need the rj45 splitter as shown in this guide:https://solar-assistant.io/help/deye/2_in_1_bms_port. On units that run the latest firmware only the combined RS485/CAN port is readable and if your inverter is reading a battery over CAN, the splitter is used so both our deye rs485 cable and the BMS cable share the same port.

Typically Our RS485 cable will connect from the Pi USB port to the RS485 port on the inverter, however some inverters on the latest firmware only made the BMS port readable on the inverter( This port is typically used when an inverter is reading a battery via a ethernet cable. If Solar Assistant only connects on the BMS port but not on the RS485 port, then the splitter is used to allow you to connect both cables to the inverter.

Not sure how to test whether our inverter which is running the latest firmware from a few weeks ago, this is what is listed under SW Ver.
