All things Sunsynk (Deye, Inge, etc...)

My issue is random and intermittent, works fine until it doesn't and there are no error codes being logged.
Do you know if this happens before or after the grid relay engages when grid power is restored?

Have you tried to extend the time delay between when grid is restored and the inverter reconnecting to the grid?

If you can simulate the behaviour by dropping and reengaging the grid with your change over switch the problem is likely localised as opposed the being caused by an unstable grid supply.

No, it happens without any grid issue. Happened again this morning at around 2:18, grid was stable.

At least it did log a fault this time, and it does seem to be the F18 AC Overcurrent fault, although that does seem to be misleading as it was the middle of the night and nobody was using anything, the stats in Solar Assistant show nothing out of the ordinary, only that there is a blip where the inverter shutdown for those 30-60 seconds.

There are a lot of results when searching for the F18 error online but they all involve the grid coming back from an outage, in my case it's just happening randomly.

Anyone had the screen and LEDs die on the front of your inverter?

My wifi module expired and now this.

I contacted Sunsynk for the firmware upgrade, they couldn't for some reason perform a remote update (maybe my firewall rules are too strict) but they provided me the firmware files and instructions - seems pretty simple. Will do it this weekend.

Good luck. I always have cold shivers when I do firmware upgrades.

Did everyone else also receive these error codes yesterday (27-October)?

I saw a post on FB of someone posting similar warning codes on their SunSynk as well.

Seems to be a syncing error between the device and the SunSynk servers?

I'm still struggling getting my firmware updated.

The initial reply they sent me contained two firmware files but zero information on if I need to use them both or the order I needed to flash them in, after a few emails back and forth with their extremely lazy support they told me I need to flash both and the order doesn't matter.

Tried this weekend and while I can get the files uploaded and it looks like the firmware is updating it eventually just stops with nothing interesting happening, and the firmware just stays on the old version. No status messages of any sort, it just sits there counting up during the update and then goes back to normal.

Told them this and I kid you not, they told me to contact Sunsynk (they said Sunsunk, don't know who that is) support for on-site - I just emailed them back telling them I'm already speaking to Sunsynk support 🤦‍♂️

Every response I get from them is as brief as possible and only ever answers one of my questions, and is usually full of spelling and grammar issues. Don't they know AI assistants exist?

You must have been hammered after that.

Well, now I know why some remote updates done by "Sunsynk" fails. I am not sure they even know what they are doing.
