Barcelona has more silverware than Liverpool. They are a more succesful club than your precious Liverpool. Why only compare those two competitions?

The most evident one being Barcelona finishing second in the league 22 times compared to Liverpool 11 times. LoL

Must be sad for Pool supporters to watch their team fail every single year in the local league.

Smokey is correct - Chelsea were not a poor team before Roman.

This is probably due to the English League being more competitive than the Spanish League.

Let's look at some stats:

Spanish sides that have won the European Cup - 2, Real Madrid (9) and Barcelona (2).

English sides that have won the European Cup - 4, Liverpool (5), Manchester United (3), Nottingham Forest (2) and Aston Villa (1).

Spanish sides that have won the Spanish Top Division - 9

English sides that have won the English Top Division - 23

Compelling evidence, no?

i proved to you that its not about how many tropies you win its about how many major tophies you win which determine who's more succesfull ...i give up with you

if fifa would follow your analogy of whoever has the most tropies is the most succesfull the old firm would be no 1 and 2 as they clearly have more trophies

@ poolmania - i disagree. The Spanish league is by far more competitve than the EPL due to there being more depth in the league.

I dont have time to post an article i posted on another forum a few months ago where a table clearly shows the last 10 years and the points difference between the two leagues of all the teams.

In the table it is clear to see that the top 4 in England are head and shoulders above the rest of the league. In Spain, it is more balanced out with more clubs competing for the title. If you dont know this by now and you are a football supporter, then sadly this debating with you is useless.

so if you using this analogy then Celtic fc is more successfull than real madrid ,ac milan, liverpool ,manure ,barcelona cause they have more trophies than all those team

real madrid 31 league champs ,9 CL total 40 major trophies
Ac milan 17 league champs , 7 CL total 24 major trophies
Liverpool fc 18 league champs ,5 CL total 23 major trophies
Barcelona 18 league champs , 2 CL total 20 major trophies
Manure 17 league champs ,3 CL total 20 major trophies


Can someone please phone FIFA as they gave club of the century to the wrong club ,it should have gone to Celtic seeing as they won the most major trophies put together

If you didnt start watching football this season you would know that the Scottish league is rated below other european leagues, hence if 1 team won it 1000 times it would mean nothing in the ratings system.

I'm sorry Genius, but why do you keep missing or avoiding the point. I was not talking about currently. I was talking about since 1890 as it was in response to your lolz about Barcelona being 22 times runners up compared to Liverpool's 11 times.

The stats I posted have no say according to you in deciding this matter.

What have those rankings got to do with the History of European football which is what we're talking about? Seriously, you can't tell me that the rankings above is your evidence, serious? Those are last years rankings and have nothing to do with the history of Barcelona and Liverpool in terms of trophies. If you want to bring in that sort of evidence, then I might as well bring in this years Uefa Rankings which have Liverpool as No.1.

Come on Genius, a bit of common sense for once.

One would think how can Barca be ranked higher than Liverpool if i were to use guru's thinking?

In his eyes Liverpool are FAR ahead of Barcelona cos they have 18 league titles and 5 CL trophies.

How then can a team like Barca with not as much, how did guru say? MAJOR TROPHIES, be ahead of the strong and powerful Liverpool.

why is Liverpool ranked no 1 if Barca have more trophies

Those rankings are in european competition (nothing to do with a team being any good domesticaly) and have more to do with the epl having a top finsih in the rankings last season as that counts for 33% of their points and liverpool winning the competition a few years back.

Liverpool still have less tropheys and even less of a chance of actually winning a league trophey.
